Can someone give me an input on this. I've checked the performance for the i7 3610 with the previous sandy bridge processor, and it doesnt really differ much. But i would like to know, which one of these two, "i7 3610" or a "i7 2860" would be a better processor for rendering?

Hmmm... my i5 has a core running at about 10-15C hotter than another.

Slightly higher clocks, not that you'll notice much differences in real life though..
However, the integrated Intel HD4000 GPU stands out for the Ivy Bridge i5 processors... its alot more powerful than the previous Intel Hd3000

The HD4000 is equivalent to a GT330M while the HD3000 is somewhat similar to a G310M.

Dang, we need a new thread starter. The active one.

Hardware moves fast nowadays and this thread is already outdated.
