QUOTE(karyaw @ Dec 16 2010, 01:48 AM) wow..such a big gap! Added on December 16, 2010, 1:49 amconfused again! Then again, it's for video encoding. In situations such as games, quad cores are not fully utilized and in cases, dual cores with higher clocks get more favorable performance. Besides, you need the extra battery life.

Actually, there is a point of having a HD6370M or similar while using it with an SB proc. Some games, absolutely refuse to run if it sees an Intel GMA in the system.

QUOTE(junsheng @ May 27 2011, 07:07 PM) i don't think games will refuse to run if it sees an intel GMA in the system bcauz nowadays, laptop comes with Intel GMA and (AMD or Nvidia) graphic card when the laptop require high power graphic processing it will use better graphic card but it will switch back to intel GMA when it is idle to conserve battery life, furthermore Intel GMA with a sandy bridge processor will perform as much as the same as the entry level of AMD or Nvidia card enabling gaming and watch HD movies possible with new netbooks Nope, some games still refuse to run, even with the Intel HD. I'm not saying that the GMA is a bad thing but sometimes, discrete solutions are better to have even if they don't seem like a better improvement.

QUOTE(pandera999 @ May 27 2011, 09:34 PM) like heavy games? or due to its compatibility? Heavy games can run. Whether it will lag is another matter. Older games suffer from incompatibility sometimes.

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jul 16 2012, 10:27 AM) Slightly higher clocks, not that you'll notice much differences in real life though.. However, the integrated Intel HD4000 GPU stands out for the Ivy Bridge i5 processors... its alot more powerful than the previous Intel Hd3000 The HD4000 is equivalent to a GT330M while the HD3000 is somewhat similar to a G310M.

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Jul 16 2012, 09:47 PM) Does one of the core actually powers the integrated graphics? It's a separate component.
