Because they say something like " Our policy: Accessory defects replace on the spot. Main unit defects replace within 1 week, if stock available. Within 3 weeks if out of stock."

Of cos does not concern you but what about those with the Syabas firmware?

My Opinion on POHD is that you should push AC Ryan + Realtek to solve their problems with Dolby and DTS companies and provide the HD Audio formats (True HD and DTS-MA) as initially promised in the sales promotions

I think Elite Chew will agree with me on that

Believe me, it's useless watching a True-HD movie without any sound.

Actually cross-firmware flashing is happening all over the world with the same chipset. It is worth to know whether it can work or not. At least we know that POHD and Mede8er cannot work although they share same file format '.img'.

Added on January 26, 2010, 1:50 pmI agree with you. But the fact is : Realtek giving a misleading fact. They thought that HD audio pass thru is easy but the fact is not. Currently Realtek is hacking their head on how to solve this problem. If new SDK can solve this outstanding problem, it will be great or else we are tuah tiao liao!!

I have a strong feeling this is just a common 'Buy Time' excuse used by Realtek. If after so many months they still can't deliver, I don't think HD audio will ever see the like of day. After March they will probably give another vague excuse until come a time when people just give up completely.

Even AC Ryan has lost confidence and no longer showing the True-HD and DTS-MA logo at their POHD website specifications.

March is very near so just give them the benefit of the doubt. Like last time the Sigma "DTS downmix" issue also took so long but was finally settled anyway.

TViX M6600 can work with PPS but not all link can stream. Wait for better firmware.

some reported that early realtek units can work with HD audio passthro, even 1283 xtreamer can downmix TrueHD..

maybe this HD audio feature is locked for 1073..

Well, by this 1 or 2 days will know because my 1283 player coming in & the supplier says can bitstream HD audio which I doubt so.
