Never heard of this realtek brand. Pls ask to test by Mede8er or M6600 or POHD, see what is the different. Remember, same F-16, but pilots different will make the plane fight as dump or marvellous.

please differentiate between F/W and SDK.. if all use the same SDK version then decoding quality , GUI function should be similar, and the other parts of the F/W is for window dressing (or the skin) /other additional apps . the color controls were unlocked due to using new SDK, previously can't control this section even with how many hundred firmware update..

Ok-lah whatever realtek kah, sigma kah...just be happy wth the one we hv can dy...no need argue-argue..Every products sure hv their advantages & disadvantages wan..haha

I have the Dvico 6500a, POHD, & WD TV Live. Tested 3 of them on a 42" Panny PY800. Same results as ar188. I find the POHD a bit too soft for my liking. It's not like I'm imagining it. The results are really noticeable. I've sold the POHD since. It's still a very good player for it's price but I prefer the Sigmas for now. Oh BTW, WD TV LIVE is far from perfect but we're not gonna discuss it here.

i find the diff most easily noticed on old grainy movies... realtek makes it very grainy while sigma makes it sharper n less grainy.. my result might not be accurate.. my result is based on only 1 movie.. the chinese show 'hero'.. quite obvious .. switched between wd tv n blue angel h10 r many times.. but realtek's ability to play real files is very convinient for our wives who likes real series.. i am keeping my h10r

sure others will say both of you dunno what you talking about.. need to calibrate first la.. need to be branded type realtek la.. need to turn DNR off etc..
too bad they didn't see it with their own eyes (testing n comparing both units in reallife).. only armchair post to disagree..
