Alright guys, the Version 3 has reached #2525 post sweat.gif ... nice number, is time for 4D tongue.gif
It's time for Version 4.

Come on guys!
Post the picture of your workstation here! thumbup.gif

Post the picture of the whole workstation area of yours in this topic.
Don't mind the reason to showoff or just showing the messy area in your room. laugh.gif

As long as it contains picture on your whole computer area, then it's accepted. brows.gif

**PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING**
Mini R&R for workstation thread sweat.gif
QUOTE
-Do not spam(comment like: 'this is cheap' 'wow, that workstation is nice')
-Ask these question using PM function(Item vs Item, etc...)
-PLEASE, do not quote picture or at least spoiler them
-Picture post in thumbnails or 800x600 resolution (please don't oversize, not everyone have 22" LCD)
-Short discussion/comment is Okay

just wanted to avoid workstation(our beloved thread) being shut down like BUY club, and wish BUY club will be re-open soon smile.gif

Diskless Server allow all Desktop PC or Secondary Server at my home to boot OS from image located at Server using "OnBoard Lan Boot(PXE)"

Interesting, I've been looking out for this for a few years but I haven't been able to find anything that allows for Windows to PXE boot. What products are you using?

I've considered using iSCSI to boot off a remote disk, but the cards are still too expensive for home use sad.gif

Mine. Made a few minor changes/upgrades.

Primary workstation on the right, secondary on the left. The big table and red chair there is more than 20 years old, I was just a lil baby back then! Moved them all the way from KL, then to Penang Island, and now to Bukit Mertajam.

My place. Recently upgraded the monitor to AOC Angelo, bought a new wireless router, sound card, portable headphone and hard drive. Also changed to an antique sound system with antique cables. My laptop, portable drives, 3 earphones and other misc. junk are all in my room, too messy to show laugh.gif

Kinda crowded huh? No choice lah since the table so small... Even used to place a camcorder dock and 2 digicams on the table, now stashed somewhere else liao sweat.gif Daddy dragon and daddy dinosaur on top of casing, baby dinosaur on table, glow-in-the-dark dinosaur on sidepanel. The plastic looking thingy is actually an octopus car sticker from CIMB Clicks, prevents my gadgets from scratches as the table has a rough matte texture.

Underneath. 14-year "antique" old amp, speaker and cables I mentioned earlier, 10-year old table. Forgot to return the Zoids box on the bottom left back to my cupboard. Oh yea, now I'm just using an el-cheapo mouse and keyboard as they work well enough tongue.gif

10 years ago? RM200. Well, NAD sure makes good reliable amps. After 14 years and it still works like a charm, and yes... I was surprised how much better it sounded compared to standard PC sound systems. I hv both 120x60 and 100x60 Vika Amon table...btw 120x60 is the largest for Vika Amon if i'm not mistaken...the 100x60 is good enough for computer table although a bit on the small side...the 120x60 is a definite no..no...coz after a while the table start to concave in the middle if u hv a heavy LCD (i.e. 22" and above)...i tried to put a fifth leg in the middle...doesn't work coz the table is made from fibreboard so kinda hollow in the middle...so screws cant stick properly into the board...go for galant series if u hv the moolah...

October 2009 version.. changes since my last post.

- Added a Dell Nehalem-based desktop, virtualizing my two old desktops rclxm9.gif Finally upgrading to vista (later 7) too. This desktop will be on my desk until I finish migrating the desktop in the closet, then I'll move it in.
- Removed a 20" monitor (four monitors is too much)
- Removed the old pentium 4 desktop (too slow and too hot)
- Going to remove the old core2duo (became unstable recently)

Cheapest table is DIY table. But then you might need to buy some power tools which cost quite a lot.

It was hide inside the wall during house renovation.. I dont like the idea hanging the LCD on the wall but see the cable laid down below the screen.

The Philips LCD model is: 220X1SW
http://www.consumer.philips.com/c/pc-monit...x1sw_69/prd/my/

Purposely buy it as it is white in color to match mac.. So far difficult to get white colored lcd monitor here..

Exactly what do you find to be wrong with short discussions? There is no other thread in the forum where Q&A is relegated to happen via PM. Take a look at the photographer's Photo Gallery section for example.

It's a forum, take a chill pill and lighten up.

yeah i agree about the cables under the table. not too satisfied with it myself. but i have to leave it a little loose so that i still have some free play to move my hardware on the table around for maintenance etc etc. might re do it by sticking the cables on the 'ceiling' of the table instead to make it less visible.

for now, at least i managed to achieve my main goal....no cables on the floor. last time was horrendous will huge piles of cables all over the place collecting massive amounts of dust making it hard to clean that area....

bcoz of that it took me over 5 hours to plan and route the cables etc coz i had to really clean the area and wipe down each and every cable. sweat.gif

but at the moment....im very happy with the total result and i can live with how it is first. biggrin.gif

Nice screen saver there...
Just one question, since your keyboard and desktop levels are different...
do you tilt your head slightly upwards to view at the monitor?
because I do, and it strains my neck...

Yes, it's a DVR, with a switch on top, that enables jumps between each and every video, and supporting backup to my NAS (Currently missing) when overflow.

i have 4 + 3 cameras, so total of 7 cameras, since 8 port DVR is expensive, so i just bought 2*2 DVR smile.gif

it's just your usual double story smile.gif

nice....theres 2 ways....u can either power it with external power supply or with the molex cable inside.
I put a sound module switch for mine, so I can on it only when i need it or even have the light follow the sound!
Now no need to buy expensive back-light keyboard.

oh its quite okay actually..!! Its got 3 settings: low-med-hi (as in fan speed)
and i leave it at medium coz it gets pretty noisy at high setting. it idles at around 34-36 celcius without the air-con on. But does the casing or the number of other fans make also a factor in how it performs..?

have no idea bout that... i dun think so lor.. for air cooling it does affected by the air flow in the casing.. should wait for the pros..

If I remember correctly I think it's the "Galant" range. Just go to their Workstation department, won't miss those L shaped tables. Paid around RM1.2k because I added some accessories and also extended it.

Hi all,

Need some inputs from you guys.

I just went into the dual monitor setup and I am wondering on how the arrangement of the monitors and speakers.

I play FPS games and the positional audio is important.

Please advice me on how I should arrange my desk. Below is the current setup. Excuse the mess.

This is my updated workstation and gaming station. As you see there are 2 laptops. The one that is connected to the 32'LCD is my gaming station AKA 4740G and the other that is connected to my printer and a workstation @ typing and surfing net is 4736G. Just a simple workplace. The keyboard is missing as it has been borrowed by my parents cuz wanna do typing. Haiz.. cry.gif

These pc were used to be in my room. But had to take it out cuz my room needs space for my own buisness. There are lots more of my workstation. Havent included my real Workpowerhouse Compaq 8510W

I found a lot of people are using the same Table. LOL. Generic PC Table? XD
Sib, your PC Setup and arrangement is cool. I mean the internal of the Chassis. Mine, haven't arrange it. Feel lazy to take out all screws and assemble again.
The External Arrange of your PC is great too! I need to clean up my room soon. LOL. If not, too paiseh to show. Hahaha...
