I have two computers (not visible in the photo), so it's 1 + 2. I've seen SLI setups for up to 4 monitors per machine, it can be done cheaply. There's a forumer here who uses professional cards and has 6 (I think?) monitors per box
The phone is a Nokia E51. The cables lead to my wardrobe where I keep my computers (so that I can shut the door to keep the noise in). In here there's two desktops, a UPS, 8-port switch, wireless router, and modem. I have no idea how I can tidy up the cables in there unless I have vertical rails to tie the cables to.. ![]() |

QUOTE(cloudwan @ Mar 30 2009, 07:39 PM) Why most m'sian people like this meh?? Got money to buy nice sweet LCD's n rigs but got no money to buy a decent table.. Even though a mamak table is very flimsy, at least it's still a table. Not using a computer on a table at all should be made a crime..Only using mamak table n A4 boxes to put everything |

QUOTE(Maxieos @ Apr 1 2009, 12:30 AM) Thanks , I plan to get a table which is double stack.Putting the monitor on top while you can hide your keyboard below. I banged a Fellowes keyboard drawer underneath my table having the same thoughts as you.More space at the front can put a book too.Normally computer table once you put a monitor and keyboard + speaker , it's already fully occupied. Hopefully the table still avaliable What really happened was that: 1) it was uncomfortable using the drawer because it was cramped and too rigid (can't move my keyboard around) 2) the drawer lowered the keyboard too, so I had to lower the seat to match it. 3) then the monitors became too high and I had to borrow a height-adjustable stand 4) because I'm sitting further from the monitors, text on screen became too small so I had to pull the monitors towards me 5) which removes the space on the desk, which is what I got the drawer for in the first place! So in the end I returned the drawer. All these points are important for you to consider. If you still want to use a double-stacked table, I recommend you to use a 22" @ 1680x1050 or 27" 1920x1200 to keep text readable. A 20" @ 1680x1050 or 24" @ 1920x1200 will be uncomfortable to read. |

QUOTE(Maxieos @ Apr 5 2009, 02:58 AM) I saw a table-clamping VESA arm at All-IT Hypermarket Digital Mall last year. It was very expensive though - RM500.Its purpose in ergonomics is demonstrated in this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_F-yaQ4Xqc |

QUOTE(Maxieos @ Apr 8 2009, 02:20 AM) Yeh ! that's the absolute working ergonomics solution I wanted , it really save a lot of work space.Though , RM 500 is really expensive for a table clamping arm. It's different from the one I saw. If you get the one in that thread, keep in mind that it's rated to only bear 6kg.I found one at garage sales but it's a VESA stand .Not sure whether it's the same as All-IT Hypermarket Digital Mall. About the liberty chair from the video , looks nice whether it's available at Malaysia ? I don't know if Humanscale is sold in Malaysia, but Steelcase and Herman-Miller are and they make excellent chairs too. |

QUOTE(Maxieos @ Apr 8 2009, 11:22 PM) Did a search through youtube and found this product 7 flex. The review of the arm looks promising and the price from the website was only $179 . Did a google product search shows the price range at the emarket is between 90-120 and Dell US also selling it. The one I saw was different. I'm not sure how to describe it without drawing. But anyway I don't know the merits of the different designs anyway. Is it the same as what you saw ? Some nice things to look for - gas-assisted adjustments. I bought a cheap one that doesn't have it, and it's a pain to move it - too much friction. Pivot - lets you rotate your monitor (but ususable if you have a TN panel). Added on April 11, 2009, 3:42 am QUOTE(FoxNope @ Apr 11 2009, 02:39 AM) anyway ... since someone talking about ergonomic workstation, anyone using any good ergonomic chair (mesh back) with cost not more than RM600? the less the better... mind to give some info ? thanks Don't be fooled, a mesh back chair doesn't necessarily have good ergonomics. They look cool though, and probably breathe better. Personally I prefer the feeling of leather than mesh, but I can't afford leather For ergonomics, what's more important are the principles: - seat height adjustable to your comfort (so that your feet touch the floor) - small gap between edge of seat and back of knee (so you can sit all the way back into the seat) - armrests at a comfortable height, or better still - adjustable (armrests too high/low can strain the shoulder+neck) - adjustable lumbar support (fits your back and reduces the work it has to do) - good wheels (makes it easier to roll around, less strain on your back) |

gengstapo, FYI you can use a software called "synergy" to share one keyboard/mouse between two computers. I think it will be helpful for you.

![]() Changes since my last post here: - added a 24", mini-keyboard (with no numpad so the mouse can be closer), photo printer - moved the side table to be behind me. a lot more chair space now! The photo printer takes up a lot of desk space, will try to get a small coffee table to put the photo printer + laser printer on. |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Jun 17 2009, 03:32 AM) I have no idea.. they were there together with the plastic bag of nuts/screws QUOTE(akachester @ Jun 17 2009, 01:20 PM) Nice setup there wKkay Yeah the servers don't need to be big. Just that we're a bit limited in expansion options since they're small (1U size).Anyway, is that eye tester images on one of your LCD there? Is it because you have too many LCD that you need to start testing your eyes Yups those were eye tester images.. was testing the photo printer out. QUOTE(POKAUS @ Jun 17 2009, 05:40 PM) Nice office there..Nice setup..what the spec are they and where is it ha? Briefly, a C2D 4200 on linux and a P4 3.0 on windows. You're welcome btw, u are smart to keep doing net-world that we are living now...thanks alot QUOTE(azrinarizz @ Jun 17 2009, 07:37 PM) WHOA! I finally can see myself inside the rack! With my setup 4 LCDs aren't very comfortable. What would make it better is a keyboard rest that attaches to my chair so I can swivel around and face any monitor without turning my neck.@wKkaY: 4 LCD's. That is crazy! It looks very comfortable I like carpet floors. But the dust is just Rented apartment, not much I can do about the floor. QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Jun 18 2009, 12:47 AM) why is the mouse covered with tissue? what are u trying to hide? Top-secret prototype mouse btw, mind if i know what kind of cam did u use to take those pics? cos all of ur pics are really nice. dslr? I'm using a Panasonic Lumix LX-3 compact camera. There's a users club over at the photography section if you're interested. |
