What's the diskless server about/

Interesting, I've been looking out for this for a few years but I haven't been able to find anything that allows for Windows to PXE boot. What products are you using?

I've considered using iSCSI to boot off a remote disk, but the cards are still too expensive for home use

October 2009 version.. changes since my last post.

- Added a Dell Nehalem-based desktop, virtualizing my two old desktops Finally upgrading to vista (later 7) too. This desktop will be on my desk until I finish migrating the desktop in the closet, then I'll move it in.
- Removed a 20" monitor (four monitors is too much)
- Removed the old pentium 4 desktop (too slow and too hot)
- Going to remove the old core2duo (became unstable recently)

Yeah i stole it from my sister 5 years ago.

Thinking about changing it with some black+silver speakers to match the rest of my setup.. but aih.. don't feel like wasting money unnecessarily since it's still serving me well.

Exactly what do you find to be wrong with short discussions? There is no other thread in the forum where Q&A is relegated to happen via PM. Take a look at the photographer's Photo Gallery section for example.

Bought some new input devices to improve the ergonomics of my workstation - Kinesis Freestyle split keyboard and Wacom Bamboo Touch touchpad.

Yeah even though I'm a seasoned typer I'm having some trouble adjusting. Some of the letters that are on the left half are what I usually type with my right hand.

It feels very different typing with this, a bit like the two hands aren't working together.

The one I have is a touchpad (Wacom Bamboo Touch) and works with fingers only. There is also a pen-only and finger+pen variant. It can even do some rudimentary multi-touch (although I don't find it very reliable so I just use the scrolling gestures).

I'm reopening this. I don't think we need to stop the public discussion. For every person who asks something about a photo, there would be a few others who wanted to know, but aren't willing to go through the trouble of asking. And I know that in all of us, we do want questions about our setups too

If it's such a problem, I can code up a feature that only shows posts with images. I really don't think we should restrict good discussion.
