ok ,another question, how much does an anesthesiologist earn? Considering the fact that they specialise on this expertise for 4 long years. It is a major worth pursuing? Will I end up spending same amount of time and effort compared to other majors and yet don't earn as much?It is a merely passion-wise job and not a job to earn a decent living?

Oh. What medicine do you use for anesthesia? Jack Daniels, Chivas, Vodka?
But really, specialization is the way to go. I had a reply on some thread around regarding how unlucrative a non specailized Doctor's job is.
But uhm..... do you really need 4 years for anesthesia? what do they teach you there?

Being an Anesthesiologist is not as easy as it seems, not just any Doctor will do it during an operation. That's y there are specialists for it. My younger bro's a doctor in melbourne and he's also considering to specialise in this. And like many other doctors he won't be coming back to Msia to practise medicine, who wants to work for a ridiculously low wage for a few years? Even when he was doing his housemanship at Melb, his wage was about 60k per Annum. IMO, the government needs to seriously consider changing their rules on this.

Yes yehlai, I'm sure you can still negotiate with them in a proper manner (if you're confirmed given the opportunity to join them). Btw, are you a fresh graduate? What field are you in? Mind sharing what is the range of salary you have in mind?
