Wow, almost everyone here's earning big bucks. Nevertheless, you'd probably want to hear from a freelancer's/contractor's point of view, no? tongue.gif

Job Title : Freelance Audio Engineer
Job Desciption : Audio editing
Company : WizardWorks Productions
Industry : Entertainment
Tenur : contract, but not tied down to the company (hence, freelance)
Employment Level : Senior exec equivalent (Specialist is the proper term)
Experience before joining : 6 years, broadcasting
salary : RM 2.5k to RM 5k per project

I decided to go freelance so I'd have more free time to pursue my hobbies & interests. Also, usually it's 1 or 2 projects every 2 months, sometimes more.

Hi velma,

seems you are quit upset about your current position.... But do you know most posted job descirption here is base in KL? The differ is due to the living std is totally different. How much is a room rent in you location? in KL you are expected to fork out at least RM300 per decent room. In my hometown i can rent whole 2 room house with this rm300. That 's why there is so much different.

Btw, as you mention you were on study load sponsor by your company, well, unfortunately ALL this type of cases have low income cause the company know your are contracted to them so to them they alway tkae the employee for granted. I had lots of friend whom offer study loan by S'pore Gov to study at their Poly, when they graduate they need to work for the Gov for at least 2-3 years and they are paid at very low rate as well.

I hope you will talk you supervisor in this matter personally, if you only awaiting the company to realise their shortcoming, any company IS bad company cause they will think if you dont complain then you are happy with the situation. Since you mention your sale result is that good, i am very sure hte boss will willing to neg with you. Do you sell as many that house every month? To a company consistance is vey impartant.

BTW in any field, 6 months into the job is still very new.

HTH

Hie chamelion.. thanks for ya comments. the living standard at kl is diff from ktn for sure and tat's one of the reason i din go there n work. i dont think i cant survive there..6 months is stil new n i agreed tat.. hopefully the boss will consider i raise request. averagely i sold about 2-3 houses in a month. so far im the leading among the marketing & sales team. even the old n exprienced staff cant beat me. but i onli making about RM1200 after adding the commision.

Getting so upset with my current company. sad.gif

i din get any bonus n raise for my salary after all.  sad.gif

maybe they think im stil new for the company. i started working with this company in part-time form when i was stil schooling and so far i hav joined this company for 6 month.

i'm starting this job with RM800+RM50 phone allowance, yet i din get any raise even after the probation.  sad.gif

i can't even show my unstatisfied face to them in the incident, coz they r the one who lend me the money for my current Diploma studies. Poor men always get taking advantages from the rich ppl.

i'm not angry just too upset with it. i think i hav contributed alot to the company. my sales record so far i think no one in the company can over it. i sold 9 unit of houses in 2 days. is owesome?

can anyone show the way to communicate with my boss?

You should take initiative to discuss with them with this matter as most of the employer (which not take caring in consideration) won't do anything unless u show off in front thier face (sometime lap kasut), they always consider u r happy, i try to be quiet b4 so ... Well they paying u low becoz of livin std , kuantan maybe livin expenses not high but that's an excuse if ur performance is a clear evidence of ur capability. if they pretend not knowing anything then show talk to them directly. I heard frm my fren that he got 1k+ commision if successfully sold a unit, some more he is part timer only, from tht time onwards i thought that this industry is perform well in msia. Hmm why dun u come to KL for a job or find some job there?
