QUOTE(vios2002 @ Mar 15 2010, 10:27 PM)
if u say PP2 can handle 140/kmh that look like normal speed.... alot HP tire have no issue when doing this speed just want to know what if we push in corner at higher speed, how much the tire slide off in wet corner and what is the control level in wet during cornering? for PP2.
*
bro in wet condition... not dry... try it with raining heavily... usual tire will give you some hydroplaning effect... well if you are not that sensitive enough to feel tat dangerous phenomenal then i got nothing to say so... but u should not compare a new tire with a 50% wear off tire... PP2 50% wear already still give you the grip that u want in wet... Hankook V12 i can say good in wet but the hydroplaning resistance is still not as good as PP2 even GSD-3 is not that good but it is very close... but in the wet corners those directional tires stand out to be better... of course PP2 is not far behind... in TireRack they tested the twin siblings of PP2, PE2 with Yokohama S Drive, Bridgestone RE760 Sport (RE001 twins); well it beats S Drive and RE076 in overall performance, especially in wet where Michelin old skool thread also give ppl great surprises...

well they are quite good comparable with some of the directional tires... if you want really good grip then u need to look for Goodyear GSD-3 that is max tire if not mistaken with the size of 195/55 R15... it give you good G's in the corner no matter wet or dry... of course u need to bare with the noise it created and also the lost of comfort also...

haiya... not delivered no problem come to talk talk mah... haha... smile.gif

bro Vios2002, maybe travis wanna try out the tires only... cos a lot of ppl face dilemma on choosing tires just like me b4 PS3 was out... wanna try new tires T1R but scare it is not that good in wet worst than V12... PP2 is the reference of my car's wet handling, but V12 is not that far behind mah...

ok lets set... 11am meet at the shop behind Sunrise then eat roast duck (American style) for lunch...

QUOTE(priyangaf @ Mar 16 2010, 09:35 PM)
Got this picture from the net, for me the tread pattern is quite boring..
[attachmentid=1486199]
however Michelin says PS3 is "Better road-holding in bends and three metres shorter braking distance on wet roads", which is a significant change in wet performance...so you guys pls review the tire after installing ..ok?
*
don say it is boring it beats most of the tire on the road... u use PS2 b4 then u know y ppl willing to pay about RM700 for 1 17" tire... BTW don judge the tire by it's design, if you notice all Michelin tires is Asymmetric design... but most of them over performance their rival model by other brands, especially in wet...
Ultra High Performance category RE001, PP2, S Drive, T1R... it is small little bro for it... it is at Max Performance Categories

QUOTE(alan75 @ Mar 16 2010, 10:31 PM)
PS3 is to beat RE001?
*
haha all the way bro... RE001 is good for our medium horse power car, even PP2 is matching it... so PS3 is successor of PS2 and PS2 is 1 level up from PP2 what do you think... haha...

bro Travis... u wanted to do a TT for so long already so now we have a mini TT..

Why supercharging since bolt in turbo has been proven worked for the vios. Get the 0.4 bar boost n the engine will able to get 140whp which is impressive.

+1... same as bro vios2002 said... prepare for some cash to do this mod...

well i heard there is some pros and cons...
i now fibreglass is a bit brittle and ABS is more ductile... when u know it with certain force...
there is a lot of Body kits from Thailand i think coz Vios is quite a hot mod over there... so try to look at more photos b4 u ask them to make it...

again I'm sorry for the FFK... but would like to Organise for a TT for our fellow members here on next Friday around 8pm at PJ SS3 Syed Bistro... anyone???

aiya should tell me earlier then i pick up my fren at Sunway and go there... hehe more ppl eat cheaper mah...
Friday nite there less traffic meh??? haha... can also la... Friday should be mo problem at nite... maybe make it around 10pm then... easier for all ppl...
BTW test drive in my car no use as my old gen Vios's suspension is a lil stiffer than ur new car... but at least u can have general feelings...

*this morning took it for a round with my puppy with me... from Shah Alam Hicom to Desa Park City in Kepong via NKVE try some corners (especially those butterfly design from Subang tol to NKVE) it is capable to do better corners with 10~20km/h faster than my previous Hankook V12... noise from the Tires is clearly heard from 70km/h~120km/h after that it will humms much lesser...
its handling is sweet at least better than V12 coz switch lane at 120km/h with sharp response... yummy... drool.gif
wanna know more then u need to try to install it on ur ride to feel the superb difference, especially the amount of grips it offer and the sharp precision handling....

yes bro Vios2002, surprisingly it is 320 which is a lil high for a Extreme category... even my Hankok V12 (UHP Category) also has lower threadwear rating than it...

bro priyangaf, now promo period it should be around RM220 (Klang) ~ RM250 (Old Klang Road)...
i bought mine at RM230 at SeaPark... smile.gif which is cheap but of course do not expect too much from the shop... if you want good alignment and balancing job done on ur cars then u need to find another shop in Old Klang Road, i find their price still ok RM250 but they includes all alignment and on the wheel balancing... i skip it coz i just did my alignment, and also save my pocket..

so far can feel the difference tat corners i can take 10km/h~20km/h more than V12... and in Sunway Car park (Cement floor) it does not make any screeching sound at all even driven around 30km/h at corners... hmmm it does grips welll...

well i don like V Kool as i got feedback that they filter RF too so smart tag might has some problem too... mine Air Cool, and the price of V Kool is too expensive... for RM1400 i can tint my whole car by using AirCool top range which has similar spec with V Kool Elite already...

as i said it is similar with the V Kool Elite can't remember... should be around 95~96% IR filter and about 75% visibility...
BTW i just use the highest at the front windscreen + 2nd highest for 4 doors and rear windscreen which cost me RM800 only about 3 yrs ago...
if not mistaken around end of 2008 i install on my mum's Avanza around RM900 only... similar spec as mine... smile.gif

hei,
anyone here change their tyres during warranty period before?
i manage to do it in PJ service centre for oni RM7x for 4 tyres
they said claim from toyota wan
*
wat??? RM70 only... aiya... ori tire is not good at all... tire does not affect ur warranty smile.gif
they sell it to you cheap coz some body come and change after using for a while... the main point is no body wants it as iti s 185/60 R15 special size also... haha...
what u wanna change to??? back to Original, frankly speaking those OE tires sucks...
what is ur requirement on the ride... Comfort or Handling? the tire noise? ur driving style?
by giving us those answer we can recommend better tire for you...

QUOTE(vios2002 @ Mar 23 2010, 08:26 AM)

QUOTE(ChinHong86 @ Mar 23 2010, 11:42 PM)
i never thought of changing my tyres
coz currently i personally feel my tyres still serve me well
still can take the turning at the jln duta 'roundabout' at 90km/h
cost of balancing
tyre is FOC
the service consultant just told me they can change into new one for free
so i jz go for it...
no harm rite?
i heard the service consultant saying something like that...
so just change lo...
since my mileage oso 3xk d
*
well it will serve you rite in dry... but wet i'm doubt u can do it... but i can tongue.gif
GT3 tires is fail my test, i only need to see but to drive... can't compare with better UHP tires at all la...
GT3 is comfort performance only but Ultra High Performance or Extreme tires like Yokohama S Ddrive, Bridgestone RE-001, Toyo T1R, Hankook V12, Michelin PP2 or new replacement model PS3... i think even Falken 912 performance beat GT3...
common tires like Dunlop D01, Bridgestone Potenza RE030, Bridgestone MY-01, Continental CSC1, Silverstone Kruzier and some others is not in my mind at all when i wanna but tires... once u try those UHP or Extreme tires u will never look back... the main reason ppl buy those so call common tire is only 1 reason CHEAP and LASTING... but that is wrong Hankook V12 and Falken 912 also cheap but they give you the bang of buck...

if have TT come, we can talk more about this... hard to tell u in writing, if you can feel much better smile.gif
