normally, how much RM for my01 for 205/50/16 per piece ya? rm175?
*
205/50/R16
Hankook V8RS - RM270/pc @ Siang Sin Tyre, Mergong Alor Setar (3 July 2009, bought 4pcs)
Falken ZIEX-912 - RM300 @ Siang Hin Nagasari Prai(Apr 2009)
Falken ZIEX-912 - RM265 @ Jooi Seng Klang (Apr 2009)
falken Ziex 912 - RM245 @ Rawang
Michelin Premacy LC - RM380 @ Ban Hooi Klang (Apr 2009)
Bridgestone Potenza RE-001 (japan) - RM 340 @ puchong
Yokohama S.Drive (japan) - RM 320 @ puchong (inc bal & alignment)

that is cheap if you can get that price but again... if you want better tires in wet traction better skip those, BS tire does not means good...
usually 16" tire is around RM250 and above... as the min Falken 912 should do but it is about RM100 more than ur MY-01 but it's comfort and traction is better than MY-01... other than that u can survey Hankook V12 Evo which is better than 912 in all aspect but it is priced around RM280~RM300...
skip those like Conti CC-1 (tire have problem), Falken 3 and 5 series (no good in wet traction), Michelin Primacy LC or MVX8 (no good in wet traction) and some others also...
Dunlop D-01 is good for normal driving speed only and most of the BS and GY mid range tires is not up to expectation bro...
look at the tire rating, Traction should be at least A (actually i did not even peek if it is A rated only), others is temperature must be A and Threadwear is not that important for me coz tire sure got wear and tear... even i use about 30~40k per year last time i still prefer to get better traction tires than risking my life... threadwear for Performance tire normally is it rated as high as 340 and as low as 180... depends on the dry grip and also wet grip it gives...
BTW Bridgestone MY-01 is rated B for traction only as for Falken 912 is rated at A at least and others like Hankook V12 Evo, Yokohama S Drive, Michelin PS3 (NEW), Toyo T1R, Toyo DRB, Federal Evo 595 all is rated AA... traction rating is AA Best, A Good, B So So, C Bad Bad Bad...

choose urself... smile.gif

well u can't compare Forte with Vios as Forte is 1 segment a bove Vios if not mistaken... smile.gif yes Mazda is give a hard time to Honda and also Toyota, but again ppl in Malaysia tend to prefer this 2 brands at the moment... i did test out Mazda with a long distance drive from SG to KL... good response but it's GB ratio did not help in FC too much as it's meant to have constant power from all the gears...

BTW i still duno y ppl still buy Honda, not see by it's current Quality problem which is quite similar with Toyota... but the whole package, Honda did not sell well in JP itself, it is mainly rely on ASEAN and North America sales... the major problem is the suspension kits especially those bushing is not lasting at all, as quite some numbers of fren complaint that it will make noise start in about 5 yrs time... and it is not cheap to replace it as i heard... but again the current arguement/question also to all Toyota owner... a lot of ppl said that they are making expensive car without much of new technology, why still ppl buy those over rated engines and car parts...

Yeah the forte is a C segment car but at the price of a B segment car it is hard to ignore it. Overall comparing the specs the Forte has the best value features n specs comparing the vios city latio n 2. However their aftersales by Naza is still a archilies heel and resale value is remain a doubt.

The only few problems on the vios is the steep pricing esp after the facelift and the design may not be appealing, but talking about resale value and aftermarket servicing i only can think honda can match toyota in this section. Honda cars are always overpriced. The city if it is CBU from Thailand will cost at 100k. The upcoming freed will cost 120k which is ridiculous for a Avanza size MPV. doh.gif

I would consider the mazda 2 hatch if i have not gotten the vios but considering i upgraded from a myvi, seeing the mazda 2 hatch reminded me of a upgraded myvi. Would better wait for the fiesta with 1.6 n dual clutch gearbox but still for now, no regrets with vios tongue.gif

Well i bet on the new vios they will be using new vvti engines and new gearbox, hopefully vvti dual with 5 speed gearbox for the new yaris/vios.

Even the mazda 2 is using the same gearbox n engine frm the previous gen mazda 2. wink.gif

Bro Michael & Vios,

I'm looking for 195/55/R15 and planned to trade in my 14" ori with steel rims as I'm getting a J-spec.

Comfort is a must but ain't want something too soft as it won't last cause I drive normal most of the time.

Currently I'm using Ducaro for my city and it's not bad for me.

And saving some $ too for tinting, fog light, sportivo kit and door visor biggrin.gif

Cheers,
Charles

Ducaro GA??? it is a joke if you want grip... even entry level Comfort performance Falken 912 will over take the fellow easily...
try Hankook V12 for performance and Comfort a lil... but i think PS3 will fit Dugong better as ur suspension setup is a lil soft...
well any ppl here fitted their cars with harder compound like Michelin PP2 or PS3, Yokohama S Drive or AD 08, Toyo T1R, Hankook V12??? pls tell me... if you live nearby PJ area can TT 1 day??? coz i need to feel the ride comfort...

hehe..that's what i tried to point it out bro...
for me, i traded my stock rims was the best deal. like u said, 16" tyre is at least Rm250 per piece (btw, i was oso quoted for rm250 for the my01 by the shop actually), thus making my stock wheels trade in value to Rm1k! unless my01 is rm175 per piece which equivalent to rm700 per set, the total damage i paid of only Rm1.4k for the sportsrims and got myself free my01 set of tyres after traded in stock rim+tyre is worth it. somemore it's lenso rims...not chapalang brand one wink.gif
so imho, anyone who decide to change rim rite after got vios, just go for it while ur stock wheels value is still high... brows.gif

anyway, noted ur advice. will definitely change to a better tyre in the future coz last time i just purchased and not do research. my bad. hahaa..
tenkiu bro. u r really tire sifu eh notworthy.gif

agree wif u. vios still sells bcoz of its reliability. forte is unproven yet so only time will tell and Naza is their nightmare.
probably, in the 80k range, vios is still the best value for ppl looking for reliability n low cost maintenance
