Hi Everyone,

I've made my booking of the new Vios last week and expected to get my car at end April.

Just want to ask, for changing the original 14" Rim to 15", will it void any warranty? I'll just stick back to the stock Rim and Tyre specs as 185/60/R15.

Can't wait for it!

Cheerls,
Charles

Latest: Toyota SA just now called and said facelift first batch wl be out on April 6th!! it is 10 days before the official launch.

I am so happy, I am getting mine in another 2 days!! so excited!!!!!!

furthermore got 1000/- rebate..hahahah thumbup.gif

Cheers,
*
haha my SA so nice called me during my holiday and tell me I'm also entitled for the 1k rebate and gonna get my car at end of Apr biggrin.gif

BTW if ori 175/65/14 tires just touch down road and go change, usually what price did those Tyre shop offer to trade in? Just want to get a reference price for not to be push too much by the shop. I'm intended to go for 15" or 16" depends on my budget.

Cheers.

bro MY01 is normal tire only thats y cheap only... if you look back it s rating it is total useless la... Traction rated B only, no good in wet...
if you change to Michelin PP2 or BS RE-001 or Toyo C1S or Toyo T1R then u need to pay around RM200~300 more... if you really calculate back they give you about RM500~700 trade in price only... smile.gif
*
If got 500-700 trade in price I'm happy enough liao! biggrin.gif will stick with 15" as tyre cheaper, more comfy and won't have much power loss.

205/50/R16
Hankook V8RS - RM270/pc @ Siang Sin Tyre, Mergong Alor Setar (3 July 2009, bought 4pcs)
Falken ZIEX-912 - RM300 @ Siang Hin Nagasari Prai(Apr 2009)
Falken ZIEX-912 - RM265 @ Jooi Seng Klang (Apr 2009)
falken Ziex 912 - RM245 @ Rawang
Michelin Premacy LC - RM380 @ Ban Hooi Klang (Apr 2009)
Bridgestone Potenza RE-001 (japan) - RM 340 @ puchong
Yokohama S.Drive (japan) - RM 320 @ puchong (inc bal & alignment)
that is cheap if you can get that price but again... if you want better tires in wet traction better skip those, BS tire does not means good...
usually 16" tire is around RM250 and above... as the min Falken 912 should do but it is about RM100 more than ur MY-01 but it's comfort and traction is better than MY-01... other than that u can survey Hankook V12 Evo which is better than 912 in all aspect but it is priced around RM280~RM300...
skip those like Conti CC-1 (tire have problem), Falken 3 and 5 series (no good in wet traction), Michelin Primacy LC or MVX8 (no good in wet traction) and some others also...
Dunlop D-01 is good for normal driving speed only and most of the BS and GY mid range tires is not up to expectation bro...
look at the tire rating, Traction should be at least A (actually i did not even peek if it is A rated only), others is temperature must be A and Threadwear is not that important for me coz tire sure got wear and tear... even i use about 30~40k per year last time i still prefer to get better traction tires than risking my life... threadwear for Performance tire normally is it rated as high as 340 and as low as 180... depends on the dry grip and also wet grip it gives...
BTW Bridgestone MY-01 is rated B for traction only as for Falken 912 is rated at A at least and others like Hankook V12 Evo, Yokohama S Drive, Michelin PS3 (NEW), Toyo T1R, Toyo DRB, Federal Evo 595 all is rated AA... traction rating is AA Best, A Good, B So So, C Bad Bad Bad...

choose urself... smile.gif

Bro very nice of you, any price reference for 15" ?

Charles

go to Tire Price List thread... around pg 70 if not mistaken...

BTW what you want... maybe bro Vios, Travis or me can advice you... bro Vios and me at 195/55 R15 now, he is using Federal 595 Evo and mine is Michelin Pilot Sport 3...
pls categorize ur requirement on Comfort or Handling, Driving style... then we know which is suitable for you... smile.gif
*
what is your budget range per tire?
then we can suggest u what tire ...

like myself i look for grip level then comfort.

for average ppl like us i think u can try ps3, grip level is not bad and i dont think u push as hard as me do ...

Bro Michael & Vios,

I'm looking for 195/55/R15 and planned to trade in my 14" ori with steel rims as I'm getting a J-spec.

Comfort is a must but ain't want something too soft as it won't last cause I drive normal most of the time.

Currently I'm using Ducaro for my city and it's not bad for me.

And saving some $ too for tinting, fog light, sportivo kit and door visor biggrin.gif

Cheers,
Charles

Just finished my first tank of fuel, full tank reach 1 bar blinking run at around 480km, means average at around 12.8km per litre of Ron97 Shell. Driving was very conventional because it's first 1000km so max rev was at 3000rpm and max speed at around 100km/h at highway, driving was 50% / 50% town and highway. Not as good as people stated which easily can fetch 550km per full tank tongue.gif

Going for 1000km service soon!

Charles

Bro, which PJ Toyota did you go to? The one near Jln Templer or the one near Digital Mall?

By the way, damn scary right! Sigh, better not park near huge trees!
Bro, what insurance is this? I think I need to get that.  sweat.gif

Bro it's the Section 19 branch opposite the 3-2 Square, but service so so only might consider other Service Centre next round, my previous experience with Honda Service Centre is much better than this for my old City.

my car tires very noisy, ori tires... getting louder after 100kmh... it is normal?
*
Mine also very noisy from day 1 I got my car, I even heard from one guy told me at the accessories shop that his vios's tyre burst after just 6000km mileage because of the camber matter, the tyre's thread eat at one side, manage to get replacement from Toyota Service Center as according to him but this problem will persist until put camber nut to align it back.

Anyone facing the above problem, I wonder does Toyota Service Center check our tyres when we sent our car to service as my tyre pressure was uneven after my service when I went to petrol station to check.

Reaching 2000km but FC still so so, 1 full tank at around Rm77 of RON97 can only go max for 470km, wondering is my driving matter because I sometimes went to 140km at highway.

Dear all,

Wondering anyone using the 2nd gen vios, find the radio reception is bad? My 2010 vios have intermittent reception for my original player, changed it to a touch screen dvd player still the same.

Any method to improve the radio reception as I normally listen to radio when I drive to work.

Cheers,
Charles

Hey there,
How do I adjust the driver seat level (etc. higher/lower)?
I tried pressing the handle down and pulling it up.....how come it wont move?
*
It's on the right hand side of the seat, same as where u adjust the set position, just pull up to raise it and pump down to lower it at the handle.

Cheers,
CHarles
