well we have not have any official words from UMW Toyota yet... as i think all the facelift will be a lil expensive... but that hike is a bit much but if they make sure they include something nice... then it might boost the sales also...
by its look in the photo, it looks quite ok for me better than dugong... but still need to see the actual car for more comments...

then just change some parts of ur current 1... haha... the bonnet, head lights, bumper & parts attached to it... not sure about the front left/right fender though
* Dugong wanna be quick quick ask for more discount, i think they are clearing the old dugong stock... the facelift should be in after March...

QUOTE(confuzan @ Feb 10 2010, 02:14 PM)
hi guys,

just wanna share my experience and hear your comments.

booked vios G in early january, bronze mica. SA said confirmed will get before CNY. 2 weeks ago, he told us that car arriving 8-9th feb.

yesterday, around 3-4pm, he called and said, due to the facelift, umw stopped production for the current vios. there is no stock for bronze. there is one medium silver.

he give 2 options:-

1) take the medium silver immediately
2) wait until march to get a bronze mica

i find it unacceptable to be told about this so last minute, when we are expecting the new car to be used during CNY. the order was done more than a month ago.

what do you think?
*
y dont u give the HQ a call for verification??? they have all the records there... or call up the branch manager??? u hav the confirmation order slip with all the chasis no and also the engine no??? try to ask whether some one have jumped Q or not... happen to quite a numbers of ppl... coz there is a lot of ppl doing bad things to cut Q or get faster car///
i believe that is a bull shit if they accept u booking and did not meet it... request for more more more discount if you wanna take the optional color...

QUOTE(kazami @ Feb 10 2010, 06:37 PM)
it is up to u...
for me, silver also not bad...

just service my vios for 30k but my odo hit 28k only due to half a year duration
anyone go for the aircond service? it cost me RM220 for my next service
*
their Air-cond service u can just skip it... give it to denso glenmarie better or let outside ppl to do it... coz UMW Toyota never have Wheels and Air-cond departments... they sub-out the servicing for alignment, balancing and air-cond services...

QUOTE(eddiewsk @ Feb 11 2010, 12:21 AM)
hi guys, may i know what is the v-belt? apparently from the previous post, i noticed that this v-belt cause those rattling sound? and it's not timing belt as someone clarify that vios dugong use timing chain.....sorry bro, still noob in vios.
*
not only Vios all VVT-i or DVVT (P2) engine uses Timing Chain (which replace Timing Belt) so there is another belt visible to all which connect the Air-cond compressor and alternator... that is the V Belt which SC charge u for around RM200++ for changing it... they change mine after i complain that there is some clicking sound from the engine if i press the accelerator slightly only... so after some checking they change the V Belt and now no more sound... as for timing chain we have comsulted toyota and they said it shuld last the life of the engine... if some mechanics that ask u to chnge timing chain then becareful... coz i heard from some mechanics it is required to changed after 100k km... but until now my Vios still service at SC now around 87k km only after almost 5 years...

well bro ask for the things in the system... i'm quite sure they have lo... Toyota system is when u order u can have the confirmed coz chasis or engine no from Thailand within 2 weeks if not mistaken... if stock ready different case... i think the SA never do it for you... thats y i ask u to try to complaint to HQ and see... which Showroom u go to??? Franchise shop or own by UMW themselves...

@eddiewsk, check for you in a while or during lunch time... u are lucky coz i drive Vios today... smile.gif

not sure woh... but last time if not mistaken we got the confirmation for the order quite fast... then just after 2 months got car already... waiting time for most of the toyota car will be 2 months... those can take fast 1 is stock ready...
sorry i think i mix up with my previous order haha...
btw they have a system to tell there... so make sure u get everything done if the order's chasis no is not same with the car u take then it might be something wrong already... i duno they still practice tat or not woh...

nah... after 500km u can do anything if you wan... but 120~140 does not means ur engine work very hard... maintain it lower than 3.5k ~ 4k RPM i think that is ok...

got for the service and get mineral 1st lo... then after 5k use the full syn... if not 10k also can... coz their so call major maintenance comes every 20k... smile.gif
20k, 60k for duno what service already, 40k for another 1 then 80k is the most expensive... sweat.gif prepare to fork RM1k for that not including air-cond and wheel services...
*check wheels balancing and alignment outside better coz they also sub it out as they do not have any machines and man power in the SC...

ur gear in D i think it shakes something in the front bumper... sometimes i hv that sound while sometimes ok... try to ask them to check on the timing, or the engine mounting whether it is not in good condition or other problem... smile.gif

er... the reverse gear problem i think that is a differential lock that prevent it to engage the gear too fast kua coz you are in R jsut a moment ago... i feel the jerking but no sound i think... maybe the clutch plate still rotating in the reverse direction and once u engage the D gear it will for it to go other direction???

i know certain car is like that, they cannot do full turning so they compensate the loss by tilting the tires a lil to 1 side after the full steering turn... like benz, bmw just to name 2...

no la... alignment is done with the wheel facing the fowards direction, it should be ok if the machines shows the wheels and tires tilting reading around 0~2 degree...
if the tilting is too much then they will ask you to change the chamber nut which is a gimmick, Ori chamber nut will not bend or crooked if you do not have any major accident... they will ask you to change to adjustable type (RM50/side) or normal type (RM35/side) or they will help u to adjust it back (RM15/side) with charges...
some master did told me the machine have small error also depends on a lot of factors... so if ur wheels tilting reading is not more than 3 degree u can just neglect it, but sometimes if you want something to be perfect and u don mind to pay u can change it... smile.gif

all is personal preference...

Xenon lights=.=" lolx...
tats really brighter lar bro~~ haha....

btw... im thinking to change my rim... do u guys think 15 or 16 better? or both no much different? how about tires? im newbie with tis.. any advise?
*
well good 15" tires will cost around RM180 to RM300, while 16"/17" tires will be around RM230 to RM400... where it is a wide RM50/tire gap there if you don mind u can change to 16" or 17" rims... the tires of 16"/17" is not that big difference though... 205/50 R16 or 205/45 R17 is good for you... if u wanna stick to 15" try out 195/55 R16... smile.gif
of course 15" give you more comfort while not bad on handling, but 16"/17" will be better in handling but suffer on comfort... ur choice

QUOTE(McRyan @ Feb 22 2010, 01:12 PM)
tat means mineral is the best for our car la comapre to semi n fully?
n i heard tat after v use semi or fully, v cant roll bck to mineral anymore, izit ?
my mileage is now 2200km, can go up genting aldy?

Added on February 22, 2010, 1:14 pm
nvm la, i can wait, i juz like tat foreman touch my car lol
*
not really la... they use Semi Syn... Mineral engine oil is a lil thicker 20W50 where protection to the engine is more... but ours is newer generation of cars so 10W40 engine oil is good enough... but it is slightly more expensive lo... and it last a lil more...
for 20W50 normally ppl advice around 5000km change, 10W40 is 7000km while the Full Syn 5W40 is around 10k km... so it is ur choice... cos better interval change i think full syn is better coz it save u all the fuzz of changing oil after 5k km... and the time it need... you can roll back from Full Syn or Semi Syn to 20W50 (Mineral) engine oil anytime but not the opposite direction... it is still owner's choice... i still use 10W40 for my SEG 5AFE engine... smile.gif
