Don't bash hippo for it's name lar. I love my hippo shroom + E5 bass boost, on certain recordings it sounded awesome.

Hippo shroom is an alternative for RE0 with cheaper prices (Rm170-Rm180). dfkt from head-fi grouped RE0, shroom and phonak PFE as same kind of class (what people would call clarity type), with shroom having better bass punch. Still for bassheads it is definitely lacking.

hi there, just wanna find out which is suitable for all round usage.. mainly home recording, and listening to music.

currently leaning towards ath m30 or shp8900. i understand that they are inherently different, with one being closed and the other open.

i've heard good things about the philip's soundstage, but at moderate volumes, how bad is the leakage?

in terms of comfort which is the better of the two?

feel free to recommend other headphones withing the m30 and shp8900 price range.

thanks!

I had both, and I personally find the SHP8900 more comfortable. Your mileage may vary though. smile.gif I find the M30 abit heaty around the ears.

since u are into home recording i would recommend m30 = it's a monitoring headphone thus u can listen all the detail u need... and it's also great for music / movie...

comfort ar? m30 is pleather pads so it's kinda hot when u wear it longer... unless u get AD-series which is famous for their comfyness and soundstage...

1. Audio Technica FC700
2. Koss Ksc75
3. Koss Portapro
4. Beyerdynamics DT231
5. Audio Technica SQ5
6. Audio Technica FW3
7. Audio Technica ON3
8. Audio Technica M30 ( not portable but great SQ )

all are portable headphones... except DT231... but it's well within ur budget...

Hi need suggestion for a new iem. I previously used creative aurvana, but it's now broken..So i'm looking for a new, better one with budget around/abitmore than aurvana.(rm500 max)

The only thing that i'm not satisfied with aurvana is how sensitive it is (when touch my shirt etc) so an iem that is less sensitive is a plus point. Iem with flight adapter is a very minor plus point..

Usage : music from mp3s/videos on laptop. Preferred brand shure/ue/AT/and maybe bose

I just need a shortlist of iems so i have a reference of which i can do further research. Any suggestion is appreciated so just fire away tongue.gif
