Anyway,where is DPC? We are from Subang Jaya,I know Desa Water Park is it located anywhere near it? We cant make it this Saturday and we're planning to go for the
DOGATHON 2010 at Bukit Ekspo UPM on Sunday..family outing..   but we'll try the following week...fingers and toes crossed!!
We got Duke in May he was just 3 months old,so he's been with us for 2months seems like ages now..He was a tiny little bloke,howled the first 2 nights but settled down after that.
Then we had the issue of Angel,who was Queen of the house and has this pesky little intruder,encroaching her "space" & "attention from us".It took us about 2 weeks before she warmed up to Duke and now the both of them terrorise the house but its so nice to see them play together.Duke is  alittle "heavy" for his age our Vet & Groomer told us to cut back on his food..all Mum's fault she like her babies "chubby",so now i watch his food and he's keeping trim.Just want to know how tall should a MS at Dukes age be?The last time we measured he was 11 inches,we're alittle concerened.
Well once again thank you all for the warm welcome and we look forward to meeting up with all of you soon and exchange notes like "parents" do each time they meet,gosh I hope Duke & Angel behave themselves when they're out in public, we're already having anxiety attacks!!

Free gifts not as much as last year though, but ok la got a few sample.
Really a lot of people and dogs there.

But some dog owner are really unethical lo, they didn't pick up the dog's poo poo.
My hubby stepped on dog shit don't know how many time =.="

Not much free gifts ar? I don't know about that coz it's my first time at Dogathon, but I thought the free samples are ample...even though I don't really need the dog food samples Apparently they broke the Malaysian Book Of Records this time around....got 1100 dogs at the event that day I quite enjoyed myself even though I spent 3/4 of my time at the booth, but it was nice to look at other dogs. Did you win any prizes? I tried to join the Musical Chair thingy, but unfortunately Scottie & I didn't win anything...we were a bit too slow and Scottie was pushed out by the bigger dogs when we tried to go for the same 'chair'.

I totally agree that some dog owners are unethical! There was somebody's (don't know who, coz got too many people at the booth at one time) dog pooped on the grass RIGHT IN FRONT of Yen's tag booth. It was a big dog definitely...no small or medium dog can poop that much and such a big sized one, and to make matters worse, it was a semi-loose kind of poop! The stench was unbearable and people were avoiding our booth because of the irresponsible person's inaction. Needless to say, quite a number of people stepped on it without knowing and were cursing left right and center! Thankfully, a kind volunteer from UPM cleaned it up and the Natural Balance crew gave some cardboard boxes to cover it up...

Sigh...its sad to know that there are irresponsible owners around. They fail to see that they are the main reason why our furkids are not allowed in most parks. Even in DPC, sometimes u'll see poo poo's at certain corner.

Luckily, most DPC ppl are responsible enough to clean up after their dog's poo poo. However, I hope ppl will get the idea that if they want their furkids to be more accepted in our country, they have to learn to be more responsible.

anson & cindy, thanks for telling me where you got Miki's pee tray. Been looking for something like that for a long time, and finally found it at Pet Safari last night. sherry's not sure what to do with the tray yet haha but it's only the 1st day.. hope she gets the idea some day

We spayed Pepper there.

It's really far from our place though..for emergency cases we'll go to Taman Segar Veterinary Hospital. Near to our house and they are well equipped. However, their doctors are on shift, so no guarantee that u'll always get good doc. So far, 2 docs treated Pepper before and they are good

I send Scottie to Dr See in Sri Petaling...on previous occasions I've also been to see a Dr Lim near Taman Desa. They're very good doctors, but they're very expensive Recently I've sent Scottie to Dr Edmund Yeoh in Puchong...he's quite good too Yen almost always sends her rescues to Dr Edmund for de-sexing and treatment. He's also open to raw feeding

Or, if you want to send to a better facilitated place, Gasing Veterinary Hospital is also okay but you would need to see Dr. Prem or Dr. Lim...not sure the rest of the doctors there are good or not, but I've heard good things about Dr. Prem and spoke to him once when I went with Yen for a consultation. He's very informative and detailed if you ask

How much of food intake that you gave to your ms? my ms seems over-weight.. after seeing a 1.5 years old ms that is smaller in size whereas my ms is only 7 months old.. i normally feed my ms twice a day, with small cup of dog biscuits, the owner of 1.5 years old ms claim that one day only feed twice 2 tsp of food, wont it be too little?.. please share.. thanks..

Pepper haven't meet up with Miki long time too..no time to bring her to DPC

The Yu dry shampoo i bought before to clean her paw and her beard...not sure issit Pepper's skin super sensitive..she started scratching after we used that to clean for for a few days..then the skin become reddish..so i stop using, the dry shampoo is now sitting in her grooming bag unused..

Nowadays we'll wash her paw with skin cleanser (need to bilas with water..not so convenient though) that prescribe by the vet because Pepper has the habit of licking paw when she's bored, so that skin cleaner helps to clean off bacteria to avoid her from getting any fungal infection on her paw

IMO, I see no harm in washing your dogs daily, if you have the patient and time  Most information we found on the internet are from the western countries, and their weather is different from us. Some might be applied to our weather but some not. I would say it depends on what shampoo you are using. Get those natural ingredient shampoo. The cheaper/normal shampoo usually contain cleaning agent that dries up skin and fur. For example SLS (sodium laureth sulfate) if you check our human product, cheaper product usually contain that

Are you sure its pee smell and not yeast infection hmm.gif Yeast infection is very common for dogs, and it will have stronger smell on MS and also several other dog breed. Wet and humid creates the infection. Make sure Miki's feet is dry most of the time and that will help by reducing the yeast growth. If you go to the vet, usually they will suggest to shave the feet like poodle feet, but that looks so ugly on MS sweat.gif the best solution is still make sure the feet is clean and dry. Some dogs like to lick/chew their feet, and that helps the growth of the bacteria. So stop their licking/chewing bad habit.

Recently, vet told me a new product, I have personally tried but not as prescribe, need to use it daily and I just tend to forget cry.gif its a dusting powder, that you can apply on the feet to improve the "environment" and help to reduce the yeast growth. There are also cream for yeast infection that you have to use as treatment for at least 2 weeks.. but after all treatment, it still back to square one, make sure the feet is clean and dry nod.gif

i comb his hair then after like 30 minutes it become messy again -.- especially the mouth or beard there...

Perhaps you can snap a photo from the top view? Sometimes a heavy dog doesn't means an obese dog, it is just the gene in it is a larger size dog.

Mild yeast infection you can't really see anything. Anyway, like I previously said, any natural ingredient shampoo will be ok. I would prefer to use the normal shampoo then the dry clean one. Yu smells nice, pet esthe also.. there are a lot more shampoo out there that uses natural ingredient.    Check out when you go to petshop, read the label

omg!! my puppy kept barkin this morning and i thought what? found out there's ants over the stool, anyone experiencing the problem? i've checked the puppy, no signs of ants over it..
