Just want to highlight that the original colour would be brown, and that I've layered the shoes with cognac and light brown cream.
@Kelvw: What's the damage of the belt? smile.gif

@sweetpuff Bought the belt for £50 reduced from £200 smile.gif Quite a good bargain.

Hmm, most of Zeve's shoes says Polished Leather which is corrected grain. You may want to check for creasing wink.gif

Well we are talking about shoes at Hush Puppies' price range so I'm not expecting full grain calf. But at least it is stitched down unlike HP's and should not fall apart after getting caught in the rain a few times.

@SweetPuff: Can't go wrong with a pair of double monks.
@nikfs1881: Going home already? There're more shoes you haven't picked up yet  tongue.gif
I thought you said 2 pairs...where did the 3rd one come from? wink.gif You gotta show the Trickers.

Bicester is a hit and miss but more miss most of the time. The Cheaney pop up shop was there for a short period of time but only up to Easter I believe. There is Church's though.
You should make a day trip up to Northampton instead, may be easier to get around in a car hopping from one factory to another.

This is what you missed at Beicester, not much really but they do have some nice selections in there and it's not subs.

As for the EdwardGreen sales, not much that I fancy. There were rows and rows of shoes. Most were either old factory stocks or seconds and they weren't cheap either. Old stocks were at £500 and seconds at £400. I did get a pair of ShoeTrees at £35 but they were old stocks, the newer ones were still retailing at £95. They told me the wood was different and they've switched suppliers. I managed to get a matching belt instead which I was pleased.

Here's how it looks like. No crowd yet in the morning. Even when it opened there weren't many people. It started to pick up by midday.

My belt, tree and polish haul.

Decided to head back to Jermyn Street again which wasn't a wise move. I ended with another pair of Edward Green which I shall be picking it up next month after my break  innocent.gif  whistling.gif

Thanks man for the update! On my last day in London, stopped by Jermyn St again while waiting for the wife. Tried on the classic Stow country boot with Dainite sole. Massive, extremely well-constructed pair of boots! The type of shoes which i havent had in my collection! So ended up with the third pairs.....

Anyway, nice belt at awesome price! Complement your EG shoes perfectly! Glad i didn't make a stop at EG outlet...otherwise, i would've been gbp500 poorer...but wouldve been nice to buy Shoe Trees at GBP35!

Btw, as for your 2nd pair of EG, did you MTO?

As for Bicester, it wouldve been nice if Cheaney outlet is still there. Not a fan of Church's (used to - i still have two pairs unworn (a double monk and an oxford) and a pair of well-loved custom grade - need to resole now). Quality is deteriorating - for the price, i would go for Cheaney or Carmina anytime.

@sweetpuff nice pair of double monks!

As for zeve shoes - promising concept, good price-point - at this price point, difficult to complain about quality! Personal and honest opinion - a bit over-the-top patina and design... but of course some may like this! Reading the 'about' section in the website and, judging from the pic quality alone (which of course may not do justice to the brand), when they say they use "premium leather from finest cow" i think they are really exaggerating. But, i hope to be proven wrong. Would be interested to read first hand review from members....

Personally, i would save a bit more and get myself a pair of decent GW shoes with decent leather quality....the likes of edetal or Loake or even Indonesian maker that will last me for years!

Another alternative to consider at this price point would be Bexleys shoes (currently selling at eur99) or wait for EdETal sales - about SGD199 +/-

It's a moccasin construction so will have more or less the same durability as Blake stitched shoes. Agreed with you on the styling, if I do get some, I will be using it as a casual shoe.

Or possibly Fortuna? Sometimes mistakenly called by their address Jalan Sriwijaya(because that is what is written on the insoles! lol).
