is it Canon n Sony's bad management to have this type of problem
or is it jz us Malaysian management?  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif
Uncle Ian, compare with SG's management on your recent SG F1 trip  laugh.gif

nono, u got me wrong. what I meant is, Sony's event management is superb. they know their limits. They set the number of participants, make sure there's enuf pros n staff around to take care of us. The brand manager himself goes on these trips with us to make sure evry1 has lotsa fun. n the most important thing is they never ever say anything about other brands n they never ever try n sell anything to the us. The big boss keep emphasizing to us "as long as u guys have fun, that is the most important thing, we r not here to sell u anything". The events run like clockwork too. Bus, lunch n dinner at the best restaurants, pros for 5-6 participants, they really treat us like kings I tell u. N everything is free plus a big fat goodie bag worth hundreds of ringgit.

Canon is like a vampire pulak, everything want us to pay. Sum1 said to me it's unfair to compare coz Sony events r small n costs less so they can afford it. Well Canon is the biggest fish here with the biggest sales so it comes back to the same. They make the most so they should also spend the most when it comes to events. I bought a lauya rm2000 SLR from Sony but feel like a king, I have rm30-40k of Canon stuff n all I get is a lauya white cap with the Canon name peeling off. Canon needs to learn some tricks from the Sony events on how to keep us happy.

Canon should have officially apologized to each and every participants of the event for the f**k up computer system from 3.30pm to 6.30pm...cannot upload the photo to the server and fire the IT company that manages the computer system...... don't seem to have a disaster recovery system in place.....system down, heard that they need to change the server hardisk. Last resort was to upload the photos to the individual PC's c drive.....don't know whether these photos are uploaded to their main server for evaluation or not?

No food never mind (because free registration) but at least some free flow of bottled water.....cannot do brand promotion without some sacrifice!!!!

CANON PHOTOMARATHON FAILS......DON'T DO EVENTS THAT U CANNOT COPE....AT THE END, YOUR IMAGE IS SPOILED....GOOD CAMERA ALSO NO USE!!!!!! sad.gif

WHO AGREES WITH ME..............

I'm not trying to be bias here, but I think Canon did a pretty good job organizing the event.
Sure the computers were a major hiccup, but that wasn't Canon's fault, it's the IT company's fault and Canon should make sure never to use them again.
I myself felt that the registration and redemption process went through very smoothly, unlike some events where one has to stand in line for a very very long time.
And yeah, I agree with the Emcees being shitty, constantly talking about Canon and all.

And I already knew that the only reason why Sunway allowed the event to be held there was that they were still gonna profit from it. The free entrance ticket was practically useless as it was entitled to nothing, no rides no nothing. So I went back early and had a satisfying lunch outside brows.gif

2000 ppl event and the price is 500D...shame on them...this remind me the Sony convention 2008 with the 20 x GPS device (for DSLR) and a grand prize A900 body.

all u need is just actively involve in the 3 days event, siting comfortable in le meridien ballroom/function room, asking valuable question and collect the awarded sticker from the speaker. Some more with free flow of mineral water, lunch buffet, hi-tea buffet.

Be reminded that those 2000 people didn't pay nuts for the event, not a fair comparison.

Sony Convention was 1000s of ppl too. Held in International 5 Star hotel with free flow of food n drinks all day long over an entire weekend. Goodie bag worth about rm500 given to every single participant. All for FREE.

all Sony events oso we don't pay nuts my friend. When we go for outstation photo trips everything from bus to the best food is free, they even give us cash angpow to go jolly jolly at the destinations. All courses n classes by Sony oso we don't pay nuts. this is why I say Canon Msia is like a vampire. Oredi number1 seller make so much money from us yet wanna charge for everything.
