i think if you have 100 computers doing con-current upload, even the server will be bogged down la.

even with my supposed OPTIMAL calculation, 166hrs / 100 computers is still 1.66hrs.

perhaps it's not the user or upload method but rather the problems others mentioned.

Indeed there were a lot of computers ready, but the lack of communication between the supervision team and the support team (the people breathing down your necks when you're uploading your photos) made things shitty for the participants.

I was running around asking whether I could upload my pictures, one side said yes sure, the other said no, and ANOTHER said need to refresh servers. doh.gif

Oh and their card readers were shitty too, I was one of the first to upload, and yet I still stumbled upon faulty card readers sweat.gif

P.S : Uploading was pretty fast though, but that could be due to me being one of the few people that were uploading pictures at the time brows.gif

i just curious how judges give points for every pictures on different themes. i saw only 5-6 judges and thousands of pictures to pick. this going to take pretty much days to see all of them. this is impossible to get it done in couple of hours.

I attended both the photomarathon for 2008 and 2009.

Last year, Canon provided food in the morning and afternoon, so this year everyone expected that they'd do the same.
Mana tau, Canon worked together with Sunway to cash in on the contestants. Cilaka punya Canon!

And canon would do much better without the baitchy emcee.

aiyah i just say it here la.

i think CMM very clever.

the objective of Canon Photo Marathon is to POISON others.
- confined area + long duration
- a lot of people
- newbie gear users see power gear users compare and feel sad, so will allocate $$$ to buy better gears
- non participants see already also feel like buying cos these people having so much fun.

biggrin.gif

result : more Canon users!

regardless how you guys can complain la, the subtle marketing is already there. people will remember the RED shirt, WHITE cap and those randomly appearing LONG WHITE lenses.
