i'd say board + ram. my geil ultra default vdimm is 1.5v iirc but lowest vdimm available on a lowly 790gx a3+ is 1.6v. smile.gif

i've tried 2 pairs, one on elpida & another on qimonda, still 1.6v by default leh (on 790gx a3+). hmm.gif

1.8v too much for ddr3, i dun think so especially if one was to put cl6 on their ram. i'd say acceptable w/ active coolin for day-to-day basis... smile.gif

too much for default not on oc.. as IIRC the ddr3 ram got different voltage those earlier batch not @ 1.5v on default..

1.8v for HP consider ok..

those high voltage ddr3 meant for lga775.. so i want to know whether amd got any issue regarding that..

need the jedec spec or use the earlier batch ddr3.. or anything also possible considering the IMC can be manipulated..

just to make sure we not buying the incorrect ram..

you mentioned about 1.6v is the lowest value.. so i wonder is 1.5v possible?
depends on mobo or the IMC itself?

worry not, kingston wouldn't wanna see high rma rate. correct me if i'm wrong, amd is not d not who set d spd table rite? why amd would have issue if d spd table was set correctly? smile.gif

no, we can't set d volt any lower if 1.6v is d lowest in bios, even alterin d bios won't change anything coz it's limited by hw. nod.gif

bro 8tvt, yes can use the 1.5v but like bro ahkoo said ah depends on mobo also.. My gigitbite straight away use the 1.5v setting if the ram is rated 1.5v..
I only use 1.6v to get my KVR running with a better timing of 24-7-7-7 tongue.gif

in lyp some sell them cheap.. beware though if to buy them..
just thinking if low voltage can oc more.. whistling.gif

Originally is cannot more than 1.65v.
But in XtremeSystems forum, people claimed that as long as the vDimm minus vTT not more than 0.5v should be fine. smile.gif
