hello every tailo here..im new to OC..ytd nite i tried OC my amd Athlon x2 5200 F3 to 3.0 ghz (232 x 13) HTT multiplier 4x (928 mhz) Ram Team Xtreem 4-4-4-10 2x1gb (430.9 mhz) using MSI K9N SLI Platinum mobo.

hmm..i run stress test during my sleep time. this morning i found out that my screen hang after stress test near 2 hours using Orthos. Maybe might be due to my AV auto scanning under background cause it hang?

and again this morning i run stress again for 1 hours pass till 896k test before i rush to work. Anythings wrong with my OC setting ka? I set CPU Vcore at 1.3v and ram voltage is 1.9v.

Yup it could be a lil too tight ram timings causing the pc to hang... hmm.gif
BTW whut's the default vcore for the 5200+ F3 eh? Been a long time haven't touch one i forget already sweat.gif

1.3-1.35v..

Added on November 19, 2009, 10:42 amF3 some kind lower..

Let us examine the differences between 65 nm version athlon 64 X2 5200+. Basic differences are obvious: this is the TDP level . It is equal to 65 W in one case (ADO5200IAA5DD) and to 76 W in other (ADI5200IAA5DD). Accordingly, we note the voltage ranges : 1.3-1.35 v and 1.325-1.375 v. . Let us note that both processors in this case are based on the same stepping G1.

The supply voltage in 65 nm versions athlon 64 X2 5200+ (2.7 GHz) in average is higher than 90 nm versions athlon 64 X2 5200+ (2.6 GHz): in the last case it is equal 1.2-1.25 v for the stepping F3 and 1.3-1.35 v for F2 stepping . Even the close in frequencies 65 nm processors athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2.6 GHz) and Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (2.5 GHz) have lower power voltages : 1.2-1.35 v.

those are geil ultra bro, if i can get kvr to run @ such timing, i can be dewa ram ledi... tongue.gif

d kvr was sold together w/ d 0922apmw last month. cry.gif

surprisingly there's not much hiccup in gettin 300htt stable, could be d imc/ram prefer ddr1066 divider. will try out more or lower down d volt needed. nod.gif

896k could be ram/imc issue. since we can't control vimc in k8, i suspect either vdimm or ram timing can do d trick. i dun have gud experiences w/ team since d gud old day of ddr1... sad.gif

more details on ram timing & other voltages will definitely help... wink.gif

1st testing i run it at auto timing about 5-6-6-18 1.9V. So this morning wake up found the stress test half way hang, i change the ram timing accordingly back to 4-4-4-10 1.9V. Ram spec can go at 4-4-4-10 2.0v~2.1v

well..this morning de stress i stop the test after passed 896k as i got no time to stress again as i need to rush to work. i believed after 896k test will be 796k test something like that.

so most properly its related to my ram issue? or i should change back my cpu Vcore back to default 1.2v~1.25v?

it should be 768k after 896k test... as stated by sir antonio, smaller k (8,10,12) are cpu related while larger k (448 & above) are memory/imc bound. smile.gif

QUOTE(antonio @ Nov 16 2009, 12:19 PM)
8 n below 448 is kacang for the IMC to test, and can be ignored (if you have run small FFTs for hours)...the really stress is around 448 and above...this is to troubleshoot quickly without having to wait for the same 8k and the gang to finish its test first.... rclxms.gif

So when it fails, it confirms that either NB or IMC is at fault with the voltage (assuming if your rams is good to go after 12Hours of memtest)
*
i'm not askin for cpu details, what i meant was details of voltages like vdimm. vnb, vcore, vhtt & d ram timing. u can use memset or cpu-tweaker to show main & sub timing of ya ram. voltage wise use either d mobo manufacturer software or hw monitor by cpuid. nod.gif
