From what i been reading now it's kinda much more easy to find an X3 that can be unlock comparing with an X2 550 hmm.gif
So far a few forumers here that i recommend buying X3's for their rig got unlockables cpu's smile.gif

AMD 2011 ROADMAP
user posted imageuser posted image

This is a single Bulldozer core, but notice that it has two independent integer clusters, each with its own L1 data cache. The single FP cluster shares the L1 cache of the two integer clusters.

Within each integer “core” are four pipelines, presumably half for ALUs and half for memory ops. That’s a narrower width than a single Phenom II core, but there are two integer clusters on a single Bulldozer core.

Bulldozer will also support AVX, hinted at by the two 128-bit FMAC units behind the FP scheduler. AMD is keeping the three level cache hierarchy of the current Phenom II architecture.

A single Bulldozer core will appear to the OS as two cores, just like a Hyper Threaded Core i7. The difference is that AMD is duplicating more hardware in enabling per-core multithreading. The integer resources are all doubled, including the schedulers and d-caches. It’s only the FP resources that are shared between the threads. The benefit is you get much better multithreaded integer performance, the downside is a larger core.

Doubling the integer resources but not the FP resources works even better when you look at AMD’s whole motivation behind Fusion. Much heavy FP work is expected to be moved to the GPU anyway, there’s little sense in duplicating FP hardware on the Bulldozer core when it will eventually have a fully capable GPU sitting on the same piece of silicon. While the first incarnation of Bulldozer, the Zambezi CPU, won't have an on-die GPU, presumably future APUs will use the new core. In those designs the Bulldozer cores and the GPU will most likely even share the L3 cache. It’s really a very elegant design and the basis for what AMD, Intel and NVIDIA have been talking about for years now. The CPU will do what it does best while the GPU does what it is good at.

uhm, I saw the ACC option, I just need to select it, and choose auto right? anything will happen if I failed to unlock it? will it crash? sweat.gif
worry ma biggrin.gif
*
For MSI u need to set the EC Firmware from Normal to Special.. Then turn on ACC value at -2% should do the trick i believe..
If it cannot unlock it would not boot at all, if that happens just clear ur cmos and restart.. And don't worry ur cpu won't fry ler laugh.gif

when giving guide at HW QA, i always said fireXXX... hahaha...now i get the right term, firmware...kekeke
what is that actually ar bro?
*
Ya i always notice u said that word laugh.gif almost mistakenly thinking ur refering to firewire or something laugh.gif
IIANM it's kinda like Gigabyte hybrid or Asus Unleashed mode, it enables a certain setting in the bios that directly associates with unlocking hidden cpu core hmm.gif

QUOTE(kanethesun @ Nov 13 2009, 11:56 AM)
ohhh, so gotta upgrade bios hmm.gif
its risky isnt it, I mean as in if the bios upgrade fail, the mobo dies right? laugh.gif
firmware = software upgrade for the hardware I guess?
hahaha
*
Don't have to worry about MSI mobo in updating bios i think, i never had any prob in updating MSI bios b4..
Only failure i ever face is with Biostar mobo doh.gif I would say u have a very high chance of succeeding with M mobo than B mobo laugh.gif

questions :

why does my vcore on am3 keep on going up & down??

Thanks,
*
Does the vcore goes up and down with the cpu speed ka? If yes its normal bcoz of ur CnQ..
If no, it could be vdroop, it's normal for cpu to have a bit of fluctuation in its core volt.. Just make sure the fluctuation isn't too big smile.gif

thanks for the answer, what if the flunctuation is big?? what caused this?? err.. PSU?
*
If the fluctuation is big like u set 1.32v it goes down to 1.22v or something, that maybe bcoz of either ur PSU isn't able to supply the juice or something wrong with ur mobo.. hmm.gif
