Q&A

Q: Can i make purchase in US iTunes account with M'sia Credit Card?
A: You will not be able to make purchases from the US iTunes Store with a Malaysian credit card. The solution to this is to get the iTunes Gift Cards which you can use to redeem for store credit. You can buy these gift cards locally by looking for sellers in the Garage Sales section. (To redeem: iTunes Program>iTunes Store>Quick Links>Redeem)

Q: Can i use M'sia Credit Card to purchase Applications?
A: Yes you can and only valid for M'sia AppStore.

Q: M'sia AppStore sells in Ringgit or US currency? Any handling fee for international transactions using M'sia CC?
A: All transaction will be done in US currency and your respective CC provider/bank will impose a 1% charge on top of that amount paid.

Application price: $0.99 = around RM3.70
Total amount paid with 1% transaction fee using M'sia CC = RM3.74
* For more enquiries, please refer to this thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/998251

Q:How To Download Games from AppStore
APlease refer to this thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/998251

Q: Nike+ application works with iPhone 3G?
A: NO. Nike+ only works with Nano and 2nd Gen iTouch, not the 3G iPhone. 3GS works because it has a built in receiver.

* The list of applications will be updated on the first post by your recommendations. Will be placing them in categories when we have more recommendations.

Cheers

Thanks Harmeet for introducing FlightTrack :-). This is really one of the best apps I have bought so far especially since I tend to travel now and then.

My list of must-have apps.

1. Twitterfon and perhaps Tweetie
2. IM+ or Beejive
3. QuickOffice
4. TouchTerm
5. Bolt :-)
6. Contacts by Number
7. mBox Mail (for my ridiculously insane Hotmail activity)
8. FlightTrack Pro
9. Wiki Mobile (it's not free but one of the best wikipedia apps on the iPhone IMHO)
10. NIV Bible :-)

I got some nice applications to share.

1. Home Budget
Simple and easy to understand interface, very good for budget & expense planning. Also can take buying receipt picture to attach into expense page for future reference. Before buying this app, you can try lite version to try it.

2. WordWeb
A free dictionary which function like paid dictionary. Get it while free.

3. ColorSplash
A cool picture editing with gray and colorful feature.

4. Voice this
A simple voice dialing for iPhone. Work for almost contact number.

Mover

QUOTE
So, what is this exactly?

Mover allows you to transfer images and contacts to other nearby iPhones via Wi-Fi networking, making this as fast and as fun as possible:

    * At your fingertips: move images and contacts around, pick them up by holding your finger over them a moment and send them where you want them to be with just a flick.
    * No need for pairing: just connect to the same Wi-Fi network as other iPhones and swipe.
    * No need to worry about saving: everything is immediately saved on arrival in your iPhone's Pictures and Contacts, and never deleted by Mover, so that you clear crowded screens without worrying about data loss.
    * … and no need to pay: Mover is available now on App Store for free!
Cool app....if only i have an extra iPhone or iPod touch i would use this app.

The download if fine, no problem so far.
Maximum of 5-7 mins per song?

I used to have 5 pages of apps and games on my iPhone.
But I find it slower compared to an iPhone with less apps.
Don't you think so?
Maybe I'm being too picky and particular.
Basically all other games are okay, mostly no problems.
But for Tap Tap Revenge 2,
where the notes lags and lags when falling from the top.
Damn frustrating you know when you screw your Revenge mode because of the performance but not your skills. LOL!

Another is for facebook,
when I view a lot of photos it kinda jams there >.<
I wonder if this has anything to do with the memory,
or its the app's problem. O.o

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks.

Added on May 13, 2009, 9:24 pmOh btw,
Has anyone tried Star Trek?
I'm considering either this or Siberian Strike.

I need reviews =))))))

to make your apps run smoother, is not to waste too much ram from your iphone, first is to purchase free memory to free some of your ram, or u can force quit by holding your home button for 6-10 seconds, force quit your safari and iphod do really helps your iphone saves lots of ram, if you just do the normal home button quit, the safari and iphod still runs at the background, therefore a ram vampire

True.
You actually force quit everytime for these two apps?
What do you mean by purchasing free memory?
Change iPhone's RAM ? -___-

Notice that there are slight differences while playing certain apps on iPhone & iTouch.
Eg: NFS Undercover, iTouch is smoother due to its faster processing speed.
As well as for Critter Crunch, Crash Kart & TTR 2.

Can I change anything to get the same outcome?

yeah, free memory is an apps to free your ram without restarting ur iphone, sometimes ur game is lagging and crash because lack of ram,you need 30+ mb of ram to run an app smoothly, if you open safari and iphone without force quit , u will left less than 12 mb of ram, but with free memory you can restore the ram about 35-40 mb of ram to run a smooth app,but that is still troublesome, i tried force quit safari and ipod and my ram remain 25-35mb+ randomly, if ipod and safari running my ran is less than 10mb, i tried use free memory to scan my ram and tested, it really works.

Thanks bro. You helped a lot.
By the way,
Does this mean that Apple actually allows background processing for both Safari and iPod?
Its pretty ironic since Scott Forstall disagree with background processing in last WWDC.
I'll try to purchase that app and update soon.
Again, thanks man.

The best way to discover New York for tourist and New Yorkers alike.

Presenting UpNext NYC 3D!

Impressive amount of information, and the best thing is, it requires NO NETWORK connection! You can easily use this while using the NYC subway (no network down in those tubes!). Search for ANYTHING! I've looked through results for the places I'm going to shop, and it spits them out nicely.

You can even try the web version by going to www.upnext.com .Impressive representation in 3D! rclxm9.gif

Not sure if there's an app for it but you can access the Chinese character via your iPhone.

Go to Settings/Keyboards/Select International keyboards.

You can select both Chinese Simplified and Traditional or just one and then toggle Handwriting and Pinyin.

Go to your SMS text and create a new message. Press the globe icon on the bottom left screen. You should see the available functions

Yes, I have already enabled this. Since I have crappy command of Mandarin, I love to have a Dictionary app that could let me find the meaning of a certain character.
