you can try ESPN ScoreCenter. a pretty decent one. you're able to customize which league you would like to have updates on.

sort of. eagerly waiting for EPL to kick off for the new season. i've been updating it via WiFi only and the startup time is quite a breeze. yes, it's FREE! so no harm checking it out. since it's from ESPN, you can choose to have score updates on other sports as well.
