using iphone to go online via yahoo messenger
my friend just send me a file (powerpoint)
can view it at first,but when i close this ym,unable to retrieve the file again

i can sync .
i can charge .

but but .

i cant take out my capture picture .

why huh ?

it says , device busy . or . some thing .

the disk icon oso dun have at MY COMPUTER .

but can charge and sync


somethime got the disk . and . when i open . no pic inside

If you can sync, ur photos should be in the same place where you told your iTiunes to sync pictures. You can choose to use any simple picture viewing program to view the files. You may also open directly from your iPhone to view them if you iPhone is plugged.

You may also use a 3rd party app to simplify this. I'm not sure if you are using Mac or Windows, but as always, things are simpler if you are using a Mac.

Perhaps try d/l a free Office-like app to help you scour your iPhone, or if you jailbroke ur iPhone, use open SSH to find the file you d/l in the specific app folder. Be warned that the BOTH ways can cause headaches

Steps Taken So Far : gave to phone shop (thinking they could solve but nada solve problem)

Originally was on earlier version OS, iphone was overheating/ cannot charged. gave a shop to rectify, solve heating problem they upgraded to newer OS 3.12, now cannot detect maxis or any carrier.



i have read some earlier post about possibly the SIM card can be the problem (but usually those owners having 3G iphones). not sure if the 2G is recomended to go OS 3.12?

the SIM card carriage appears ok, not loose.

have you tried with other sim? my phone is an officially unlock version. if i JB it, i will have problems receiving calls and sms. most of the time, when they call they will get the message number is not available. i have no idea why. so i go without JB. if other sim gives you the same problem, i suggest doing a clean restore.

done with other SIMs. it will be 'searching' & 'No service'

clean restore? dont know if its too much a task (hence sent to phone shop). Not sure if he up to it
(will give him benefit of doubt since he dont charge if he cant rectify.)

I do hope my iphone can be 'saved'. maybe a software ? (just hunch)

*clean install, i.e. downgrade back to factory OS? then JB? tks

though don't mind getting someone who is more experience on this.

Am using digi on iphone at the moment. Is there anyway to enable tethering other than jailbreak it and install pdanet?

Want to ask : How to know how much memory of the 8GB have I used apart from checking it in iTunes?

Does this work for you?

Settings, General, About.

Settings/General/About. View how much GB you have used for Songs, video, applications and GB available. Try to mess around your phone more and you'll know how to find all these infos. Cheers

It's easy actually. you can do it from itunes and click on restore. most probably is the shop doesn't jailbreak properly for you.
