hey, I am thinking of getting myself an iPhone 3gs.  the only dilemma i'm facing that what if apple releases their next gen iPhone(4g?) for the same price in a few months compared to the current iPhone 3gs pricing?

yes, there's been rumors of them releasing the next iPhone in summer 2010, but what do you guys think of the pricing in Malaysia.  also to consider, availability, will we need to wait a couple of months for it to be available here?

all things considered, is it worth the wait if my budget is the current pricing of 3gs?(and how much cheaper 3gs will be when 4g is out..)

ugh.. so hard to make a decision, help! lol

This is a difficult question to answer. The melei saying goes - tepuk dada tanya selera.

Apple WILL release a newer phone sometime.
So will Nokia, SE, Samsung etc. If you wanna wait for the latest and greatest you'll end up owning nothing.

Owning a 3GS I'm happy. Maybe I'll even change to the 4G in 2 years or so - but that's just me.  Will the 3GS price drop? Maybe. How much? I'm guessing not by much - because right now Apple is bound to Maxis, and they will ensure they milk every single sen out of you and me.

So yeah, if you wanna have an awesome phone right now, get a 3GS. If you want it cheaper, call back in maybe 18 months or so.

I have bought an Iphone 3gs for 1 month...a few days ago i realized i got 3 dust under the screen....What should i do? Plz help...can i go to maxis center or apple store and ask for cleaning this? I have no idea about how these dust came into screen ( i got the screen protector but when i checked these dust definitely under the screen)

Yup , m-Box Mail is a good replacement for the original mail . The Original only downloads your mail to your phone.

I recently got an iphone 3gs for myself.

I sync my phone contact , photo, data etc to my laptop.

Ytd my friend borrow my latop to sync one movie from my laptop to his iphone 3gs.

But something is happen once after i get back the laptop and sync my iphone.

All the contact is mix. Means into my phone contact have both my and my friend iphone contact.

Did anyone know how to remove/delete it? Cos i dont need my friend his iphone contact.

Is there a way to STOP/BLOCK my iPhone from using my 3G/GPRS when the WiFi is not available? In normal phones I'm able to tamper with the settings but I'm lost with this iPhone.
Almost RM30 of mine already gone because sometimes I forgot to on WiFi before surfing.

Please advice.

After about a year of using various methods to get it to work right, there is now a Data Toggle for SBSettings. The problem with disabling data (EDGE) is discussed in my post from last July. Today, Anderson Vulczak contacted me with a working solution to both disable and reenable Data on 3.0 iPhone OS. So we quickly put together a Data toggle and put it into Cydia. In short, this solution sets a bogus IP address, (1.1.1.0) to your data adapter’s IP address. This seems to kill EDGE / 3G without any battery drain issues reported in using other methods such as entering a bad APN.

I recommend that anyone that needs to disable Data use this rather than the EDGE toggle. The toggle should work also with BossPrefs as well.

We are calling this “Data” toggle because when it is off, it should kill the data connection entirely. 3g can be on and you will not be able to access your internet via your provider’s data connection. You will notice you get an IP address, but it is a bogus one that we assign (1.1.1.0).

The only downside is that to reenable data, we have to kill commcenter which can freeze the device for up to 15 seconds. (Should come back to life after that though).
