Hi there,

I'm sure some of you heard of this problem before regarding the 3GS. Some say it is due to heat, some say it's due to covers and some say it is the combination of both.

Anyway, my White 32GB 3GS seems to have a slight discoloration after using TomTom for an extended period cry.gif

I can't confirm whether the discoloration is actually some sort of stain from my cover.
I can only confirm if I peel off the protective layer (something like Invisible Shield), but I'm not gonna do that...

anyone else experienced this?

your iphone is white or black set ? i'm using iphone 3g 16gb white, and so far never met this kind of problem.. my suggestion better you take off the protective film, then make sure about it.. then you can buy new protective film..

Hi all, I'm having this problem which is quite well known on google. My system sound is not working. As in click sound, lock sound, dialer sound. Only alarm, call ringtone is working fine. Ipod function also working finely. I've tried the most popular solution which is plug in and out the earphone several times since last night and now still nothing changed. I'm so frustrated now

@poyol,
As mentioned, u don't know if it's actual discoloration until you peel off your shield and if that is really the case; go get urself a new unit.

@kennysan,
It shouldn't be the phone's fault; just go into Maxis and let them know you're having such issues; a couple of people got their SIM changed and voila problem resolved.

@Blast_Cyrus,
Not working?! Weird... could you have perhaps disabled those sounds?

@Tinkerbel
I am sure that i enable all those sounds. Everything seem to be working fine except the system sound and sms ringtone. Alarm and Call ringtone is working finely. As well as ipod function.
I already jb-ed my ringtone, is it better I restore it before I take it and show it to Maxis?

Thanks

yes, you need to restore back to the original factory setting before sending in for warranty claim.

Have seen customer JBing their Maxis sets resulting in a bricked 'brick'.
You DO know theres a log in the phone that shows how many times the phone was restored and other datas?

ok this sounds weird to me. I might be asking noob question. By right when we silence the phone (by flip the switch at the side) The phone should not ring when there is incoming call right? I'm listening to music just now using ipod function and when there is incoming call. I can hear my ringtone via the earphone. Is that consider normal?

Thanks

i experience the similar thing as well. it is normal.

on the first day playing with my iPhone, i didnt aware that i actually accidentally shut off the sound switch, no wonder there was no sound when i play games / incoming calls / etc.

i thought the speaker is faulty, so i plugged in the earphone, to my surprise, there is sound coming from the earphone (same encounter as Blast_Cyrus).

scratching my head... so i did a quick google on the net, and i had a laugh over myself because the sound switch on the top left corner was turned off . biggrin.gif

a quick question abt setting>general>usage>time since last full charge

my phone was fully charge last night and initially there are figures for both usage and standby

after install some cydia app and respring, the usage and standby become "-"

bt once after full charge the figure shows again.

does this consider normal?

Can I take this further with you guys?

1. The ringing tone is only heard through the earphone, not the phone itself, right(with the earphone plugged in)?
2. If you did not mute the sound, with the earphone plugged in, would the ringing tone be through the earphone or the phone?
