Not all kicking Ryo. Some overdid the kicking part and kicked the bucket. But I'm really happy with the giants.

well i can see 2 problems here lester in ur experiment.
1st the containers. they are round. circle shapes tends to hold much better because the forces that is acting on them (ie gravity, molecular bonds, etc etc) are disprese evenly. it is much better if u can try it in a square container. 2nd is the amount of in the experiment. that is too little to really tell either the clay and sand will hold up. and for ur drying just put them in a microwave and it will harden nicely. hahaha. |

well unless u are going to make potery from the clay and sand mixture, microwaving it in a small amount of time is good enough.
basicly clay when dry will crack and become brittle. that is the nature of clay. and clay will act differently from the way u dry it up, air dry or sun dry? but bear in mind that clay also can retain moisture when it is presented with it. since u are doing a setup for ur desert sp and they are burrowers, there will be moisture under the clay and not on the surface. just a reminder or maybe a suggestion, pre make the burrows for ur scorps especially the deep burrowers. u get 2 good result from these. 1. u can see the behaviour of the scorpion in the burrows. 2. just in case the clay+sand mixture is a bit too hard then ur scorpions have a burrow ready made for them. |
