Use the SE PC Suite to backup all your contact info. Save it to .vcf file.

Then use a tool (a converter, sorry I forgot the name of the software) to convert .vcf file to Microsoft Outlook contacts. Then sync 'em to your WinMo device. rclxms.gif

but when i backup my contacts info, i dunno how to save it as a specific format file..mind guiding me thru the SE PC Suite?i had a complete backup in PC ady but dunno wat file..and where

@darkace
i tried.but when it goes into omnia ii, everything was separated by commas and they r all messed up!
and i got 500+ contacts to be transferred..while my SIM can only save 250...

oh .. ok .. maybe you can consider to add as one of the con ..
*
I never feel this is con as this is English firmware mainly for Europe country, if they put in Chinese input then it may became con for them.

Some more I all the time using TouchPal to SMS, it is the best (for me) compared with Samsung default, PlumSIM and etc.

Hi. Am a new owner of an Omnia 2. Just wanted to check something with everyone here. Recently some friends sent me some vCard contacts & I noticed that those sent from a Sony Ericsson phone came in as an sms with just text. There was no way for me to save the contact information.

I had another friend send me a contact from his Nokia phone & I managed to save the contact info. Is this an issue about the format or version being used by the different phones ? Any way to solve it ?

Hopefully someone with similar experience can help me out. Thanks.

what i mean is the program that pre-installed in the rom, not the program that you install at your own

I think it's pretty standard. For RRP RM2399, you get everything...including bluetooh headset + 4GB card. If you buy the discounted set, usually around RM2050, it'll exclude these two items, but include other basic stuff like charger, headphone, USB cable, pouch, stylus and CD.

then download this file ... and read the guide here .. make sure you choose I8000XEUIJ6.csc for the 'CSC file select'

Thanks. One more question. Is it possible to backup existing ROM so that i can flash back to ori ROM if anything goes wrong?? Any guides?

Thanks. Just that the 'standard fmg set' offered by sellers can be somehow unclear. Some may include the bluetooth + 4gb while some do not. notworthy.gif

RM2399 can get anywhere. RM2050 can get in Lowyat (without Bluetooth + 4GB card). U can check out Garage Sales too. Some people are now selling at RM2030. smile.gif

btw, i'm currently using SPB 3.5, after much tinkering, i think this is a much superior shell then Samsung...not to mentioned way faster too! Heck, now i don't even bother about WinMo 6.5...

I've downloaded the VITO Chat...seriously, this is how SMS should be, not that clunky horrible WinMo SMS editor, which Samsung TouchWiz UI is based on. SMS threading, easy fowarding, multiple recipient etc are added easily. My wife will love this. smile.gif

I almost regret buying this phone coz she keeps complaining so many user unfriendliness issues...

So far this is what my wife has complained and how i resolve it....life is tough for the husband who has to do technical support for the wife!!! sweat.gif

1) No direct way of creating NEW SMS - default Samsung interface goes into WinMo with clunkiness that requires like 3 steps to create new SMS.
Solution: Create a shortcut link to the TMAIL.EXE(with parameters) and dump it into the \Windows\Menu folder.

2) Sorting of contacts by Last Name, then First Name...doh.gif I wonder who remember people by their surname first...
Solution: Use a software called 'Contact Changer v13'. (Thanks to the guys here!)

3) Cannot foward SMS!!!
Solution: The option is hidden in the Reply->Foward menu option in WinMo SMS...really stupid design. Solved by VITA SMS. So easy to use!

With SPB 3.5, the usability is so much better, but i miss something from Samsung widget though. Can i get those widget to run in SPB 3.5? Like Yahoo FInance...this is very useful to keep the fav stock code in the list.

Any ideas??

I have a question here.

Which type of memory card is for our phone? Thinking of getting the 8GB one here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/322480 but don't know which class is better for OII.

Guys...i have another problem now with SPB 3.5....doh.gif

In the left Homescreen, there was a nice big widget that shows many weather info by default. I've accidentally removed that widget and can't find it again. There's only a small widget that shows the detail when you press it, but the default widget shows many info in a medium sized box.

How to get it back?? rclxub.gif
