Love that application.  Disabled TouchWiz and then install this...
No lags at all.  However, I realised that it consumes slightly more battery power when compared to using the older 3.01 version.  After one day, my battery level would drop from 100% to 90%, with the new version, it drops to around 82-81%.
*
Oh, I didn't notice yet. But I do hope SPB or anyone can make enable to Hardware accelerate on it.

Couldn't agree more.  I like the 3D SMS function but with only software rendering, it feels slightly sluggish on my O2 and the corners are very jagged.  sad.gif
*
Yaloh, O2 support hardware acceleration but Samsung only do for OpenGl v2.0 and v1.1 but SPB mobile shell & any cook HTC touch Flo 3D is base on v1.0

I8000UZNII1 is the 1st firmware base on Windows Mobile 6.5 release by Samsung that currently available download from internet. (Not official from Samsung website)

This firmware actually is specific make for China market, but no issue when using at any OMNIA II phone. The only drawback is it only support Simplified Chinese Interface, which means not possible to switch to English or others languages interface.

Pros of I8000UZNII1:

* Windows Mobile 6.5 (not the latest build 6.5.1)
* Stable (I never face any issue yet like 6.1 which you may face need to restart the phone after a period of time due to some application may not run properly)
* New nice of WM default Start Menu and Today Screen
* Redesign of Samsung Main Menu
* No issue displaying Chinese language everywhere (Include chinese ID-tag in touch player)
* Better preloaded keypad with support of English & Chinese Language
* More finger friendly Interface (at Default Windows Mobile interface)
* Overall speed is good, I believe future firmware will be much more smoother
* A lot of new application preloaded by Microsoft
* New Internet Explorer 6 Interface
* Brightness auto control is working finally, it won't rapidly changing like last time on WM 6.1
* GPS is signal is must more better and faster. (I can locate the signal at 1st use without on the XTRA)
* WiFi standard for China WAPI is support (By default is WAPI, which means you need to disable it before can use in others country include Malaysia as WAPI standard only support in China, but now if I at China, I can use it because WAPI support is included)

Cons of I8000UZNII1:

* Only Simplified Chinese Menu
* ROM size too big
* Start-up screen has change to one of the China operator logo rather than the default Samsung logo
* Got few Junk China operator program (can't uninstall but can delete manually)
* Samsung Main Menu interface got some bugs which prevent you remove the 1st 5 icons. (Solutions is manually remove all icon from start menu to others location, then add in back one icon, with such step the bugs is solved)
* New Samsung Main Menu speed is slowest than Samsung Main Menu at Windows Mobile 6.1
* Smart Search is Remove

* Overall I still love this version, will keep it until English firmware is release.

Andrewtst,  this firmware version for WM6.5 comes with threaded sms?
*
Nope, I using Resco Contact Manager for threaded sms if needed.

But I think Samsung has fix up SMS issue even at not threaded version as now it show correctly contact name and number when you open the sms at Inbox and Send. Last time it show back my own number.

Windows Mobile 6.5 I8000XXIJ1 Firmware for Samsung OMNIA II Review:

user posted image user posted image

I8000XXIJ1 is purely one of the best firmware at the moment. Recommended. This firmware not support Chinese interface. Supported languages include English, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Russian, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech, Finnish, Danish, Polish, Swedish & Dutch. Thanks a lot Secany for posting out the firmware. At the moment, Samsung Service Center still don't have any Windows Mobile 6.5 firmware to upgrade yet.

Pros:

* Online widget like Facebook, Youtube and MySpace. no longer spinning except the AccuWeather widget.
* New nicely design Main Menu.
* Threaded SMS support officially this time.
* Capable of displaying Chinese wording.
* Smooth overall.
* Default lock screen is smooth not like the simplified chinese version (I8000UZNII1) leak last week.
* Main Storage free more than 100MB.
* The best WiFi speed so far. (No need do connection restore like I8000UZNII1)
* Newer Windows Mobile 6.5 build than I8000UZNII1.
* Asphalt 4 is added in (support Accelerometer) cool! but the graphics is not ready nice, version leak in internet is much more beauty.
* Crayon Physics is added in officially.
* Facebook, Search Widget & Youtube is pre-install.
* Two new incoming call, one need to slide when phone is lock, another is touch when phone is not lock. No longer need S2U2 already biggrin.gif
* Better photo quality. biggrin.gif

Cons:

* Program RAM only free around 50MB
* Old Red & Green Main Menu no longer exist.
* PlumSIP (Chinese input) no longer pre-install. (Cannot input chinese, need install 3rd party program now, but is ok for me)

After disabling TouchWiz UI, click on "Start" on the top left corner and you got the old WinMo menu, right?
*
In new Windows Mobile 6.5, The Samsung touchWiz UI by default is disable, but you can't get the actual Settings from Microsoft also. I didn't find got setting Menu inside the new Microsoft Menu UI also. I doubt it has been disable by Samsung. (Maybe la, or it don't have one, I never play others WM 6.5 before. Actually OMNIA II is my 1st device base on Windows Mobile. I still new on it)

I get back all the default Windows Mobile setting (not Samsung one) from SPB Mobile Shell.

Why you got 2 "Settings" ?

If you click on the other "Settings", where did it goes to?  shocking.gif

The blue settings is setting done by Samsung.

The grey settings is original Windows Mobile settings which hide by Samsung.

The sending email problem was solved after restarting the phone. And yes, after disabling the Samsung UI, the lag reduced so much. really crappy UI by Samsung.
Overall, now im quite satisfied with the phone responsiveness. But i think the screen alignment should be fixed especially the bottom right part where it is hard to click accurately.
*
Us your stylus and re-align the screen will solved the issue. Don't re-align using finger.

Useful Registry Setting for Samsung OMNIA II - Windows Mobile 6.5

* You may use Resco Registry Program to modified the registry value.
* Don't try the registry setting if you don't have any knowledge of registry value.
* Be caution mess up the registry value may need to hard reset for working back properly.

1. Show Default Windows Settings in Menu

* Goto HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\
* Select and modify the HideSettings DWORD Data from 1 to 0

2. Enable Landscape Mode

* Goto HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation\
* Select and modify the HideOrientationUI DWORD Data from 1 to 0
* Goto Default Windows Settings - Personal - Buttons and choose the button you decide to assign as Rotate Screen button. (Only work in Windows Default Settings because Samsung Settings has disable the Rotate Screen selection)

3. Enable .png as Icon (the .png file must be 90x90 for WVGA device)

* Goto HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start
* Select the .Ink folder you plan to use custom .png as icon.
* Create New string Value and name it as Icon.
* Place your .png location path in String area. (Example: \Windows\start_fm_radio.png)
* Soft reset for icon change in Windows Menu. (Samsung Main Menu icon will immediate change after registry edit)

4. Exclude unwanted photos appear in Samsung Photo program

* Goto HKLM\Software\TecAce\PhotoAlbum\ExcludeFolders
* Add new string value for each folder you want to exclude, (not working in My Documents folder)

* Add in your folder address in string data. (Example, \Storage Card\Screenshots)
* Close the Registry Editor.
* Delete all data in \Application Data\PhotoAlbum.Data (You may use SKTools - Auto Clean! to clean up as well)
