QUOTE(Alexdino @ Oct 25 2009, 08:51 AM)
And why i saw Di Santos sit at chelsea area?
*
its di santo la bro. unless there's another di santo lurking in our team that i don't know of. tongue.gif
i was quite surprised as well..was expecting him to be seated with blackburn's staff. maybe carlo invited him over? surely he couldn't say no! laugh.gif

QUOTE(CityBluePrint @ Oct 25 2009, 11:05 AM)
Players who hand-balled intentionally to thwart or deprive the opponents of their rightfully victory I usually labelled them as cheats. To call him  'cheeky'  (Zenit vs MU) by the Sky Sports toad-eaters is 'beyond the pale'
CA is rightfully to label Cole as 'brilliant' or genius. For I have not seen him to behave otherwise. Fair?
*
didn't watch that match actually. was an old one i believe? intentional handball is definitely cheating. nothing cheeky about it when teams lost points or revenue due to a player momentarily pretending to play basketball. just like pique's handball last season against chelsea in the ucl. its never funny when you're at the receiving end of it. anyway that's old news for us.

super game by chelsea. following up our 4-0 win in europe with a 5 nil thrashing of blackburn. yep its the most goals scored under carletto now. we could've went in 3 up by the break but more than made amends for it in the second half. if u look closely the joy in frankie's face is much more obvious now that he's scoring again. good on him. joe cole having a field day with his flicks and neat one-twos. perfect game to make his full comeback, as blackburn lacked the mobility to close him down. essien's cracker masked his somewhat below par passing today, but his tackles and interceptions were top notch as always.

let's be honest, blackburn didn't really test us, but it was mostly due to our total domination of the midfield and their lackluster closing down of spaces. i was shocked by how poor their setpiece deliveries were, and they clearly missed di santo who could've at least held up the ball for them. besides that drogba won two penalties during the match, but unfortunately the unwritten rule of not giving 2 penalties to the same team in one match is practiced by a fair number of refs. that doesn't make it right though icon_idea.gif

i'd like to highlight the fact that we were pretty much understrength with bosingwa and ashley missing, but still managed to bang in five! kudos to the gaffer and our players for that. belletti and iva doing admirable jobs. cameos for bruma and sturridge for good measure. if only roman was there to watch. i'm sure he'll be clamouring for the dvd now! flex.gif

Sometimes missing the first team players is a gift...just like Barca vs MU final for UCL...Barca did lost saveral first timer....they may lost the game if the first timer did play the game...

We must work on our best solution and give the best performance based on the available players...so that we wont miss them so much...

Iva and Balletti was the first team this morning...not a backup...they start and they deserved to be in the 1st team....

LAMPARD: WHAT WE`RE ALL ABOUT
Posted on: Sun 25 Oct 2009

Frank Lampard, full of smiles after his two-goal part in the 5-0 win over Blackburn, apologised afterwards for not helping returning hero Joe Cole on to the scoresheet.

It wasn't for a lack of trying early on, with Cole heading a Lampard pass wide within the first minute. But when it came to the moment a 59th minute penalty was awarded with the score 3-0, there was only going to be one taker.

'I just want to say sorry to Coley because he fancied the penalty as he has been out a while,' the ever-reliable spot-kick man revealed after the game.

'It wasn't me being selfish, I just wanted to finish off the game, and for me he was different class on the day.

'Coley was unbelievable with this being his second start and his first Premier League start,' Lampard continued. 'I think everybody knows what he brings us, it is something different as he runs with the ball, he can create something out of nothing and he showed that having been out as long as he has been.'

Lampard's own form is looking good. He was a constant threat against Blackburn and the two goals added to the Champions League strike three days earlier. His first on Saturday came shortly after half-time.

'It was nice because we needed this goal because 1-0 at half time we knew they were a danger still,' he said.

'It was a relatively simple goal, I just had to make sure I kept over the ball and got a bit of pace on it so it was nice to put a bit of daylight between us and them.

'We had to work for the win. Blackburn are a difficult team to play against, they put a lot of pressure on with long balls, but once we broke the deadlock and pushed on in the second half, that was it.

'We were disappointed last week because we didn't play too badly [against Villa] but we conceded on set pieces and if you do that at this level you are going to lose games.

'We wanted to bounce back and we have done that in style. It was a very determined performance that showed what we are all about.'

and we were good enough to take advantage of their weakness which would mean that we're strong. its good to set high standards but give the lads some credit for that awesome display. essien and ballack might have made mistakes, but our midfield is very solid with those two around. would u prefer the likes of mikel and malouda? the main thing is, 3 points in the bag, i dont give a nuts how we got it, as long as we win the league at the end of the season. all i want to see is terry lifting the cup.
