QUOTE(Ichighost @ Oct 4 2009, 01:53 PM) Nice.. with him, 4-4-2 diamond should be fine ------Essien--- Ballack----Malouda-- ------Lampard-- Btw, ballack didn't play the last 2 matches..hopefully he'll do well against the pool.. This post has been edited by nshady: Oct 4 2009, 02:14 PM |

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Oct 4 2009, 02:24 PM) Look like Ballack become a vital part of the diamond... Yeah ballack plays a vital part in diamond midfield...especially when chelsea played in charity shield...he and essien will rock liverpool's midfield Are you sure to use Malouda...I prefer Zhirkov or Deco...cuz Deco also available...but to start both of them is not a smart things to do cuz they missed 1st team action cuz of injury... Deco and zhirkov still not getting enough first team actions...doubt they will start.. This post has been edited by nshady: Oct 4 2009, 02:30 PM |

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Oct 4 2009, 02:37 PM) I dont know this is true or not..but based on my personal taught... Regarding solid CB...i think alex is a very solid one..last season he partnered very well along john terry. Carvalho is more towards a non-nonsense defender...he's like vidic...tacklings everywhere Chelsea with diamond.... We need a solid CB...and 'flying fullback'...just like Bos and Ashley now...more to Brazil now... Holding Midfielder...best played by DM position...Ballack,Essien,Mikel..and sometime Deco 3 attacking midfielder... LM,RM,and AM... We dont need Winger! Alert to Stoch ! And two type of striker...long range and short range...just like now...Anelka shorter range...Drogba longer range... |

Still remember when JM was still the manager of chelsea. Carvalho being one of the key player making crucial interceptions and tackles..yeah some were dangerous ones where he tackled with both of his legs from behind. Those were adventurous but not many defenders would be brave enough to do that. Until last season, he lost his position to alex, whom was one of the most consistent defender partnering terry too. I'd still love to watch carvalho playing, well no worries about alex...still 27..still able to last for a long time even to replace carvalho
Btw, I'd be glad to see ferreira playing too...maybe in league cups/fa. Belleti may be aging but he's still doing very well. Just how he dribbles and assists anelka in UCL |

Congratulations on the win guys...your diamond midfield were effective...and your defense managed to hold the pressure from pool. Both strikers were great too. I'm very impressed with john terry, he won almost every air-balls and he was almost everywhere for the clearance...
3 points guys |

Drogba urges Chelsea to sign Vieira
QUOTE Didier Drogba has urged Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti to make a move for ex-Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira in the January transfer window. The Premier League leaders are unable to bring in new players due to a transfer embargo imposed by FIFA, but should the club's appeal against that ruling be successful, Drogba believes veteran midfielder Vieira should be the frst name on Ancelotti's wish-list. "It would be a good move for Chelsea to bring Patrick in,'' the Ivory Coast international told the Sun. "Don't forget we are going to miss several players in January, particularly in midfield, because of the African Nations Cup."We played against Vieira last summer and he was very strong.'' It has been reported that Vieira, currently at Inter Milan, is seen by Ancelotti as ideal cover for Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel, who will both be taken out of the equation by African Nations Cup duty. The 33-year-old Vieira was at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to see Chelsea return to the top of the league with victory over Liverpool. He will be a great sub maybe? Essien and Vieira playing centre |

QUOTE(uNeVErwaLkaloNe @ Oct 13 2009, 10:48 AM) And he is also the person who will provide backup to anelka and drogba(bans, injuries etc). Since the transfer ban has not been overturned yet, it'll be good to tie him up...he's young too btw...very good potential..This post has been edited by nshady: Oct 13 2009, 12:06 PM |

When lass was at arsenal, flamini was favoured over him to partner fabregas while at chelsea, he didn't get much opportunity too since chelsea have essien and mikel. So he moved to portsmouth, he's got the chance..

QUOTE(kink_ass @ Oct 17 2009, 01:53 PM) and i dont think these big name players would want to come to a club like Chelsea cos everyone seems to think the greener pastures are at Barca, Real Madrid and Man Utd. Not really, actually some players rejected manutd to join chelsea. Example, Arjen robben, joe cole, mikel obi. Having ribery would be great, but i think chelsea already have a complete squad at the moment... This post has been edited by nshady: Oct 17 2009, 03:41 PM |

Both goals scored through set pieces, Chelsea had many opportunities but Villa's defenders and keeper were keys to saving most of our chances. They had a lot of chances through counter-attacking too btw. Drogba's shot remind me of the goals he scored during our pre-season against inter and ac milan. Drogba doesn't seem to get much of the balls tho...heavily marked..

QUOTE(retrosnare @ Oct 18 2009, 01:44 PM) maybe i should hate CA now? hurmmm, but maybe its not our luck. next time should be there. GO ChELSEA!!!! Not CA's fault, just not chelsea's luck. I think we play beautiful football there. Due to current bosingwa's form, maybe ivanovic should be given a chance? he shall be able to provide some attacking on the right. |

QUOTE(madfag @ Oct 18 2009, 03:55 PM) he just came on. he did not warm up yet. didnt u see him chase down riera in the liverpool game. those lightning fast liverpool wingers were no match for ivanovic! aside from attacking options, which we already have loads, he provides us with more defensive qualities. Agreed. He was great against liverpool. He just came off the bench..so he needs to blend himself into the game first.. |

QUOTE(madfag @ Oct 21 2009, 01:04 PM) yes. what we're missing now is a scoring midfielder. deco and malouda does not seem to be doing the job of scoring goals as we can see last weekend. I think lampard is doing more passing & defending job due to a change in formation(diamond) compared to the old tactics? Most of the time when he gets the ball, he would pass them instead of trying to shoot. |

Joe cole's able to cover a lot of positions in midfield once he gets back in REAL action. All over the midfield, right, left, centre since he's got great speed and skills. All he needs is some time to rediscover his form and what he had lost since the injury. Sturridge will get into action for games like league cup/fa cup while Zhirkov will provide backup for the position on the left. Are we going to sign a new striker? Let's say aguero. But Drogba+Anelka combination will last for at least a few more years and kalou is standing behind to replace one of them

QUOTE(Kerplunk @ Oct 23 2009, 07:39 PM) yup back to full strength against blackburn. di santo will probably cheer for both teams.huhu. maybe he might even keep quiet with the chelsea camp observing his every move. I support man united. But i use "we" just to refer the team i'm talking about. Lazy to use "chelsea". I actually posts everywhere |
