Thanks Poadster, I will try to seek advice from the officers and see if my case worth reporting.

aquest, yes I agree the SA was helpful to demo their product. But to me, that is her duty to do so. I am sure her employer did not hire her just sit down and do nothing. So its nothing to be praise about there. Its her job to demo.

As a seller, the information you provide to your customer is a very important fact that will influence your customer decision to purchase or not. Like you mentioned, she is obviously lying about the age of the product.

Take me for example, if the SA would have told me "this sub is a used unit and we have been renting it to our customer for few years already", instead of "this sub is a 6 months old stock and have been displayed on our shelf for 6 months only", my decision would be totally not buying the sub at all, pay extra 200 and buy a new Yamaha sub. I dont even care what brand it is. If you dont consider that a conning or duping a customer, then I dont know what is your terms for it.

Worst still, when the supervisor admited that the SA is giving me wrong information, and he did not even apologize and instead argued with me and defended the SA. It sucks.

This is the sub I bought. Can any AV experts here tell me if this sub a 6 months old model or 6 years old model? Mr. Google is unable to help. Thanks.

finally, gohkokho r u satisfied with the sub performance or think that u gotta lemon coz of age?

in my friend's case i actually advised him to pick up the older energy series (made in canada) instead of the newer series (made in china). we tested n both of us concluded that the older (canada) ones definitely sounded more musical. i believe the pair that we selected were at least 4 years old based on the fact that the series no longer manufactured in canada after 2005. i told the sa - u dun have to tell us the age. despite its age, it's still in prestine condition. the lure of the strong wood fragrance emitting from the port of the cabinet futher gave assurance that the speakers r worth 8/10.

I cant see anything behind the sub. I only saw a sticker which was half torn off and I couldnt make out full serial number, not even the model name.

Yup, I guess majority of my frustration is because I was duped into buying something that is not what I was told by the SA and then after I complained, the supervisor did not offer his words of comfort, instead argue and scold me for complaining. Performance wise should be ok for beginner like me.

Bro, at the end of the day, it depends on whether you are happy or unhappy with the final transaction. If u r happy (like aquest), then just enjoy the ride.

However, if you are unhappy, then talk to the Consumer Tribunal and lodge a complain with them. They usually will take up cases like urs and let them get ur money back, and while waiting for it, u can hunt for better subs.

U do sound very sour over the experience, then let the Consumer Tribunal take action, and the whole company (including the HQ ppl) will know that the outlet just met a customer who knows their right, and can teach them a lesson.

No point in sitting on the fence, take action or just enjoy it, the choice is yours to make.

Thanks for your advice. Do you happen to know the process and procedure of the Consumer Tribunal? I mean I do not want to be haul to the court to testify or something.
