ckf8829, after studying their company profile, looks like they focus on renting equipment to SMEs. I assume small business like personal AV equipment doesnt interest them and when walk in customer just happen to enquire about a price, they mark it up extremely high. A fool like me who doesnt know anything get conned easily by the sweet talk and lies.
At first I thought places like Harvey Norman is expensive and price are not negotiable. Thats why I try small shops where you can negatiate price. But now I learned that atleast places like Harvey Norman are honest and they have no reason to sell you equipment that are other people rubbish. Also their prices are not simply mark up as they see fit and are controlled by manufacturer.
Future equipments I will buy at Harvey Norman and will not pay too much attentions to their price that are slightly a bit high. I am willing to pay slightly higher to be happy, unlike now, so frustrated and cant do much about it except ranting here.
Places like Harvey Norman and Desa keeps much stock on HT gears, and their prices can be relatively cheap as they cater to both spectrum of the public, the general public who wants value for money products and brands, as well as elites who wants performances over cost.At first I thought places like Harvey Norman is expensive and price are not negotiable. I strongly recommend HN and Desa to audition their stuff, and they can usually point you to a good system that fits your budget.
Too bad u learnt your lesson so painfully, but at least you have shared your experiences with others to skip this outlet.
PS. On the sub cable, you can try moving your existing RCA cable away from other cables/wires to see if you can remove the hum. I wont be surprised its the sub itself thats humming as its showing its age?? I would not get a RM100 Monster cable to match your sub, unless you are planning to upgrade to something much better in the near future.
