achew: The CPL always takes 1-2 stops away from you even at minimum attenuation. So don't leave it on.

clivengu: You can also test at home. Try to fill up a bit more than the entire spot metering circle, not just the center square point.

I would also suggest using a marker pen to draw a black dot on an A4-sized paper, tape it to a wall, focus on it, and keep half-pressing while moving your AF points around this dot. You may find that the AF point is not exactly centered on the markings (but is within a certain tolerance.)

Poadster: Up to you.

Sony 55-200mm F4-5.6 DT pros:
- very lightweight being an APS-C lens
- more compact
- faster focusing
- focuses to 95cm close (beercan 110cm)
- quite sharp wide open
- can go as wide as 55mm, able to shoot close-range portraits at a dinner table where sometimes the beercan cannot focus too near (and 70mm is too tight)

Minolta 70-210mm F4 beercan pros:
- supports full-frame
- Minolta colors
- creamy bokeh without brightlines or distracting artifacts
- very solid build
- metal mount
- F4 at 210mm
- sharp wide open, even better at F5.6 and F8!

Kul | Mo0: Seriously though, you could skip the kit lens range altogether. 11-18mm then 50mm F2.8! You could develop your signature look with those.

Braynumb: Errr why would you sell your 16-105mm for a 28-75mm? You do know that 28mm is not very wide on APS-C, right? The Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 makes more sense if you need that F2.8 zoom.

destfull: Whoa, nice color!

I will say that different photog will have different style in photographing. So it's quite different and hard to compare to each other. Some photog just bring primes to everywhere they go. =)

Will try that later! smile.gif

I just came back from testing my tamron lens again ... this time round with A100 Vs A700.. Results r pretty scary... somehow feel like A100 Sharper in focus than A700... Not sure is the Megapixel difference + Noise level + 3" lcd screen difference that give me tat kind of impression... better upload d photos later to recheck d result.. unsure.gif

Oh talking about the center AF point. I found out actually it's bigger than the center square? It's about the size of the round circle outside the center square. Is this true? I do this test long time ago..

Observe the diagram showing the F2.8 sensor, enabled for F2.8 lenses and brighter. It has a wider baseline.

A phase-detect line pair is made of 2 sets of CCD sensors arranged in a line. The further away these two lines are, the greater accuracy, but the brighter a lens needed.
