any metz 36 flashgun owner can help to share a pic how it looks when it mount on LX3? I just simply want to know the size compare to olympus FL36R.

so far gone through the forum, found external flash metz 36 and Olympus FL36R seems to be the most reliable flashgun for LX3.

I saw olympus FL36R, the size is ok but just the price is abit too expensiv. Anyone can also share which US site can get it cheaper? Internatinal warranty?

Thanks!

hows the size of the bag? issit can fit the LX3 's width properly when facing down and use the adapter tube or hood?
*
It can fit nicely... I put adapter+UV+CPL+lens cover+LX3. Facing down, just fit nicely like they are made for each other. rclxms.gif

hi bro, would like to ask the hood u use any problem when shooting? cos i found out there is another type like a round plate shape only..and i ask the seller he told me that "For LX3, it must this type of hood much better than the flower type as LX3 come with an extra wide lens."
so i would like to confirm it. can u give some comment abt this?
and for the flash, issit good? plan to get it too.. since the price is a lot cheaper than olympus FL36..

i seldom use the hood actually, only on extreme daylight conditions only its out, the thing about the hood is that it will block the internal flash and if you add an extra filter there would be vignetting too. I think the oval shaped one would block the internal flash as well.

The flash is pretty good for normal usage, just that it cannot swivel only which i don't think is a major hindrance for me as i don't do portrait much.
here's some shots to gauge its performance.

Taken in BKK, their version of LRT tongue.gif

Hi Bro! Thanks alot!!! This pic is exactly what I am looking for. If without lens adapter it hard to hold the cam ya. Also, it seems like olympus FL36 mounted on LX3 is smaller size than metz, but price is double up...

With adapter and flashgun, your LX3 just simply looks pro!! smile.gif

well thanks for sharing!!!

the round hood might cause some vignette if not mistaken, better check b4 buying smile.gif

the Nissin Di622 is freakin tempting man!

too bad i can't test it. the shop only had the Nikon mount, which can't even fit into the hot shoe of the LX3. the feet of the nissin is too thick rclxub.gif doh.gif

IMO, its not worth it to get the oly flash. TTL only works if the flash is pointing direct. once you swivel/tilt, no more TTL edi, have to use manual doh.gif

and btw, tested with a stopwatch, it takes the fl36 13 seconds to recharge after a full blast rclxub.gif

not sure about the condition of the batteries used though.

Added on November 6, 2009, 12:15 amoh, and btw, a pic of the fl50 i posted a couple weeks back in case anybody wants it for reference laugh.gif

13 secs recharge is surely due to old batts. The FL36 is a good flash, cannot possibly take 13 secs. Ciplak flash oso about 3-4 secs oni.
