LX3 so far doesn't disappoint at all. Just got back from a family dinner, nearly 20 tables full for reunion dinner in a fancy chinese hotel. With flash at iso 100 or using the rapid shutter at iso400, pictures still came out sharp. The auto WB is also really good, sometimes even compensating the flash output.

Even attached a sunpack flash LOL. It was double the height of LX3 pointing up. Makes me want to invest on a flash too hehe.

Quick question. Where did you guys buy the CPL and UV filter? Looking for a forumer or shop to start off my photography project wink.gif.

planning to get the oly fl36.

the fact that its using 2AA instead of 4AA is really, really tempting tongue.gif

i asked for RM1500 from Key Color of Mid Valley. sorry i can't give the staff name, i wouldn't want them to be bombarded. try and haggle around!

so far i've surveyed the whole of Sungei Wang. they're selling RM1599 firm and when pushed, they say their price is firm. hem hem. doh.gif

omaigosh i am dying to get this camera. how do you explain to a camera fool of a brother that 24mm is teh 1337 and the small zoom range doesn't matter?!

but the fl36 is using 2AAs only. more compact and the money you spent on the flash could save you on batteries! laugh.gif

Hi,
Can anybody give me suggestion on a suitable bag for filling all these up?
1. LX3 + Pandabase 52mm adapter + lens cap
2. Olympus FL-36R flash
3. UV filter + CPL filter
4. SD card
5. Extra battery

Many thanks.

i've officially joined the family! bought my LX3 and devirginised it on the 31st of October. biggrin.gif

initially i went to Key Color in Mid Valley expecting my RM1500 offer. bad luck got in the way and the girl who gave me that offer was on leave. the guy who served me shot me with bloody nonsense about how the price has jacked up. interesting but i dun give a bloody care. i just wanted my RM1500 offer and i'll leave Key Color happily.

wound up strolling to Fotokem casually, never thought they'd lower the price but the fantastic lady offered RM1550 at first mention! wub.gif

now i have a reason to be active in LYN once more. biggrin.gif

welcome to da club yo'! hahhaha laugh.gif

i remember you used to be active in the handphones section tongue.gif

Fotokem in Subang Parade here sells the lx3 at 1750 if not mistaken sad.gif

the Nissin Di622 is freakin tempting man!

too bad i can't test it. the shop only had the Nikon mount, which can't even fit into the hot shoe of the LX3. the feet of the nissin is too thick rclxub.gif doh.gif

Added on November 6, 2009, 12:09 amowh, and an Oly FL-36 in my hands.

IMO, its not worth it to get the oly flash. TTL only works if the flash is pointing direct. once you swivel/tilt, no more TTL edi, have to use manual doh.gif

and btw, tested with a stopwatch, it takes the fl36 13 seconds to recharge after a full blast rclxub.gif

not sure about the condition of the batteries used though.

Added on November 6, 2009, 12:15 amoh, and btw, a pic of the fl50 i posted a couple weeks back in case anybody wants it for reference laugh.gif

IMO, using the neckstrap is a lot more solid and reliable than any single-sided hand strap with a lanyard-style attachment point tongue.gif laugh.gif

not sure..but i heard nikon's flash has a thicker hot shoe, so the flash might not fit...
i know canon's flash would work but in manual mode.
*
its not Nikon's flash has a thicker mount, its Nissin's flash which as a thicker mount.

tested on a Nikon flash and it fired flawlessly. tested on a Nissin Nikon mount and it refused to fire. have not tested a Nissin Canon mount though.
