Cybertik MZ-45

user posted image

the one i got is the Canon version, the dude said he can order the Olympus version for me if i want to. but chose the canon mount instead laugh.gif

if anybody's interested in the pana/oly version, i can help you guys ask lol. got the flash for rm450 plus 3 years extended warranty rm50, total up rm500.

Added on December 4, 2009, 11:06 pmGN45m at 85mm zoom position. Automatic zoom from 24-85mm, manual controls, lcd screen with backlight, TTL support. the TTL and auto zoom thing obviously does not work with my pana though since i got the Canon mount instead, but the oly version shud be working nicely laugh.gif

Good purchase ler. Coz it's more in line with the purpose of the LX3 which is to point n shoot since it has full auto capability. How much was it BTW?
*
the fl36 is on full auto only on direct. you tilt or swivel, there goes your TTL sad.gif

I'm not sure I'll even use it frequently, cos defeat the purpose of a compact camera dy.
I bought it at 750. Good or bad price? Panasonic rebadged FL36 costs Rm1000  rclxub.gif
The size is a bit big and only use 2AA batt. Freaking slow recharging time if i blast full power, but i dont need to use full power often.
Build quality is good.
Yeah, after tilt or swivel then no TTL dy.
Use as optical slave flash  thumbup.gif
*
thats why i didn't bother getting the fl-36 or waiting for the oly/pana version in the first place. originally was planning to get that tongue.gif

shud've used ISO80 and lengthen the shutter to 30s or smthg. can see noise reduction smears and the image is generally unsharp from all the noise reduction sad.gif

It's up to your choice, each camera have pros and cons. You can't have it all right? tongue.gif
Choose the one that might suit your usage better.

LX3 only have 2.5x zoom, sometimes wan to snap further than that also cannot.

Probably you can consider canon G11 as well. Well controlled noise at ISO800. I heard the built quality is superb.
*
from my memory, the G10 feels better than the G11. tested out a G11 recently and it feels like PLASTIC! the shutter is plastic, the body is plastic, everything is plastic. even the S90 feels more solid than the G11. Coming from an LX3 with all-metal housing, the G11 really feels hollow...

not too sure. the G10 only tried once a couple months back with no reference, so its totally from memory. the G11 i tested when i had my LX3 last month along with the S90, so i had the LX3 for comparism.

Its Yamiya by the way...

And yes, indeed I bought that bag plus the LC-1 Lens cap from yamiya

Coincidentally, the items just arrived yesterday via City-Link Express and I just collected the item from them this morning (was not home yesterday).

I ordered and paid via MBB online on 17/11 and due to the camera bag no stock at that time, I waited till now.

If u order now, I think you should not wait for long...I hope they ordered more than one unit for that bag....lol

Metz Mecablitz 36 AF-4 Digital Flash Four Thirds TTL (Olympus/Panasonic)
RM4xx.xx

Full TTL compatibility.

the mecablitz 36 kinda cacated lol. oversimplified sweat.gif

QUOTE(crayzee @ Dec 9 2009, 08:54 PM)
Ya i know, just curious asking ma. I know some ppl who rather spend 1.5k on a lens instead of getting a smaller cam to complement their DSLR tongue.gif
I have mailed DirectPanasonic, stated that camera accessories doesnt come with any warranty. That includes their flashgun.
Initially thought of buying the FL360 (after discount only Rm666.66) but doesnt comes with warranty  shocking.gif
Currently i can think of the one works with TTL (and less than RM1k) that works are:

Olympus FL36/36R - Uses 2AA, slow recharge, but smaller and lighter. Cost 750+
Lumix FL360- Forget bout this, overpriced and rebadge from FL36. Costs 1000 from DirectPanasonic site.
Metz 36AF-4O - No display, but cheap. Cost RM400+
Tumax/Falconeyes - Not really sure bout this. Nightstalker may give you some idea bout this flash
Metz 48 - It's huge and heavy
*
i haven't tried the Tumax/Falconeyes yet. The one i'm using now is a GN45 Cybertik flash for canon mount. rm450 with 1 year warranty, but i got the extended warranty which is an extra rm50. the dude said he can get me the oly/pana version if i want, but i lazy to wait lol...

if u guys want, maybe i can try asking icon_rolleyes.gif

Yup, very true. Its a micro 4/3 camera so I am incline to think GF-2 may just be around the corner. But the GF-1 is almost perfect to require another model so I'm not sure if this shot was one of those earlier sneak previews.

Regarding the TTL 'disabled' when the flash head is not pointing straight, I think TTL still works. But we should get more information from him as to why he think TTL is 'disabled' in the first place before discussing further.
*
on the fl36, if u swivel or tilt in TTL mode, the flash will refuse to fire...

u got it at a very attractive price!!  rclxms.gif

for the LC-1 u could get it online from www.yamiya.com.my

as for the hard case, u could also get a Kata DF-408 case also from yamiya around RM6x. But i wanna remind u that even though u using the kata bag, u still find it think due to the bulging lens. also the hard case that comes with the camera can withstand a drop pretty well, the kata or any other soft case may not be able to help much as the LX3 is quite heavy..a drop might damage it if its not hard case.
*
actualy, IMO, the KATA case can withstand a drop pretty well. the case is padded with some rubber ribs which they call TST Ribs, which makes it better than a hardcase at withstanding drops, and its also pretty weather resistant...

there was once i walked in the rain, with umbrella of course. my backpack and shoes were soaking wet, but my camera which is hung on my body was completely dry lol.

yeah, it comes with a shoulder strap. but mostly i use the camera pouch hanged onto my pants via a carabiner, so the strap is pretty much useless for me lol...
