Well, ditching all hopes after habouring for more than 1.5 months. Production models does differ with the prototypes. Physical deterioration in performance can be seen on the browser itself. Sorry N900, you're just a love at 1st sight.
Meh, I'm with you there. Hopes are ditched. Here's hoping that "Step 6 outta 6" from nokia will provide a much better and well baked phone that is truly worthy of aquiring. Don't get me wrong, I'm in love with this phone, but I'd rather stop waitng for something that may never come. On a more optimistic viewpoint, at least step 6 would have ironed out all remaining kinks in this phone...*Hopefully*
sorrie guys.. i'll be leaving n900 for now.. just got my TP2 from my "sponsor" .. so not goin for N900 nor droid anymore.. byee maemo.. maybe we'll meet again when maemo6 comes out..

NAND is just like your pc's page memory. The internal random access memory is 256mb for n900. The OS would dump those least used memories under internal memory rather in the RAM. Basically software with frequent access or in progress shall be placed under RAM. As we all know RAM (as a volatile memory) performs better than the internal memory as write & read are instantaneous.
It all depends on the OS. If the OS is smart in micro or macro manage the memory, you will not run out of memory despite running numerous apps in the background.
