whao... i want this phone deadly...
the 12 apps test is torturic... though i dnt even treat my desktop / laptop this way... somehow, it demostrated its limit. thx for posting that. in concern that this phone can directly browse the internet, unlike other phone where will filtered out all a lot of apps on the internet page (java script, advertisements etc), i'm a lil concern on how about the bugs, trojen, virus filting? is it integrated with anti-virus or firewall or something? somehow, both 'yes' and 'no' for the question brings further discussion.. for 'yes', that n900 is integrated with anti-virus software: jz like computer, anti-virus software needs constant virus defiantion updates to catch up with 'modern virus'. and we know what happen next is it took half of our memory speed as it needs to scan all running program at background. for 'no' or low anti-virus filtering system, it means internet browser is much permeable to virus treats... and wonder how diffensive the n900 maemo 5 firmware against those treats... and also one more concern of mine.... how about the battery? how long can it last for average uses? QUOTE(Vervain @ Nov 15 2009, 11:18 AM) If you'd used linux before, you will know even with the firewall off, your chances of being hit by worm is much slimmer than windows. Same goes to maemo. Plus, it very much dependent to the browser design when surfing on malicious site. Firefox has a good track record on reliability though. great reply, full with solid information. thankx a lot..Battery wise, it's subjective. Some tester claim one whole day under heavy use. Some 2 days, some even in a matter of hours. Pretty much boils down on what application you're using. To me, this device excels alot. But because of it's short lifespan, I'm going to shift my attention to something else. & when I say short lifespan, I'm projecting that this device would not live for the next 6 month as Maemo 6 is coming out first quarter of the year. You can very much sum up the device is a testbed for nokia. well. i'll give it a try.. yups, new gadgets kept on coming out.. i nt really expect to stand at the front line for long.. but n900 shud be able to be my multiuses and glamourous 'pet' for 1 or 2 years.. |

if a great phone like that dun covers our place, thn it is a waste even if we managed to own it somehow... language (chinese support), AGPS, broadband, GSM, connectivity,.... we knew that our Barang Naik country dont have great coverage of networks, if Nokia duwan to devolop on poor connectivity regions such as this, thn the phone is no longer 24-h internet device phone anymore..

i hope Nokia will outsource China developers. they dont have to develop themselves, jz give liscence to other ppl to do it. and i still hope in the future we get to try maemo series phone, not jz this model.

i know its not bad... 512 ddr plus 128 ROM, total of 640 RAM comparing to n900, 1gb RAM; pocessor different; and majorly its symbian vs maemo.
overall, in term of software, symbian n97 shud be better thn n900 maemo, since maemo 5 of n900 is a 'white mouse experiment' for nokia, while n97 symbian already undergo so many optimum changes that ideals for internet users. somehow, n97's hardware's performance is quite limited, such as the RAM, graphic processor and multi-task management. well, after looking at the KING processor n900, who would want to look behind at n97? still, i dont like the design of n97, jz and only jz bcoz the three solid keypads on the front touch screen LCD cover.
