the exact manufacturer specified one lor... 1.8v @ 9 9 9 24. So im wondering if its my mobo problem. Im using msi p55gd65

i even try looser timing but i can nvr go above 1440+

the ram kit is TW3X4G1600C9D

seems like im not the only one after some googling.

wah..taiko2 come out late ahh... blush.gif
mine also same as ur ram bro(i think)... sweat.gif
9 9 9 24@1.80v

quite easy to get 1600Mhz using XMP in bios...laugh.gif
when i got the mobo, the 1st thing i do is flash to latest bios. laugh.gif

i want to ask u guys, can this ram go higher than 1600Mhz??? hmm.gif
noob here... sweat.gif sweat.gif

this is so frustrating man.... no matter what i do my corsair dominator dont want do touch 1600mhz alto its rated as such.... vmad.gif

and it seems my proc limit is at 195 bclk. im getting 195 x 20 @ 1.35V now

any voltage monitoring software ar?
*
afaik, intel allow oni 1.65v for vDimm lol.

i tried other setting after i posted here.. seems like i CAN reach 1600 using higher ram multiplier just not at 200bclk

my proc seems limited to 180bclk@1.3v
pushing vcore any higher doesnt seems to make any diff. just to make sure vtt, pch n vpll is not limiting factor, i've also increase those to the max safe level i can get them too. Still ntg. i was wondering weather QPI is limiting my oc. since the higher bclk i go the higher QPI clock also...

yea.... im looking into that now. i updated my bios to the latest v1.5 already.

here is the setting im having on it, those i can remember anyway (im at office now)

max cpu multiplier x20
max qpi multiplier x16 and x18

eist, cstate, c1e, turbo boost disable

ram timing 9 9 9 24 59 1T

there are few more setting on the memory page but i cant seems to find a setting for them out there.

tonite i going home to lower down all the volt to a stable setting, drop the ram multiplier and have another go at the bclk

one question.. multiplier x21 not available for selection ar?

I did a little more tweaking just now. Now its running 3.6Ghz@180x20 on stock setting. I bump Vtt a little to 1.15v when windows hang during prime95. Ram at 1440Mhz@1.65v with loose timing just in case. Im running prime now. Will check if got error when i get back home later today....

Im still searching for software to report voltage. Non seems to work for me in win7. The MSI control center report at 1.78v regardless of how much i lower. It only show different reading once i push above 1.8v. So now im not sure is it a bios fault or the software fault...

for your information, msi, asus(except ROG), gigabyte board do not have the chipset to monitor the voltage of vdimm, vtt and such, so no software will able to read the voltage.. only the software come with the mobo able to read, and it just report the value u set in bios, it might have a big difference from the actual voltage.

Thanks.. i think tht is the case as i cant find any software tht can report voltages to me except vcore. Only the MSI control center could. So there is no where for me to double confirm the readings

After more testing. I come to the conclusion that my rig cant support bclk above 180 with ram ratio 4. Means i max out about 180 x 20 @ 1440Mhz which is about 3.6ghz. I have no idea what is the problem.

If i test seperately:

bclk
max out about 210 wit ram at ratio 3@1260Mhz

memory
max out about 170 wit ram at ratio 5@1700Mhz

I just cant make them work together...

Now im running a compromise of 3.9ghz @ 205x19 @ with 1230Mhz ram.... such a waste.

ya, cause cpu voltage reading is build in the cpu..
that a downside for a good board sad.gif
