its alright guys. just keep in mind that we did play some good football, had a good share of possession, kept the pressure on, defended relatively well, vermaelan was worth it, we were not "boys" against men, and our leader is 100% behind our guns.

sure we lost and yeah there are areas to improve but what was there to see in front of any football loving viewer is that arsenal will be the team to beat this season and that there are more great games (hopefully with great goals) to come ahead.

there's only one arsene wenger! lets put the game behind us and focus on what's coming up ahead. smile.gif

cheers!

p.s. to the guys i met at asia cafe just now (ryanatwood, lynixx and some others), sorry i didnt chill with you guys. ramai pulak my friends that decided to show up haha. next game we should congregate again hahaha

we all can see rooney is diving as he know he cant get the ball. referee system in UK is really such. u should have more referees to check from every corner..

anyway, we wish that we can win all the game

i'm waiting for uefa/FA to investigate the penalty incident... we just keep quite...let see how consistent they will be...if uefa can expertly analyze the subjectiveness of this video replay on dudu's case, why not in this case...

dudu was banned due to simulation (his act to con ref)....i accept it....i think not much different in this case.... the only different in this case, rooney's act (simulation) been added with one extra feature which was he successfully made slight contact with almunia which clearly not enough to fall him down (which we clearly see almunia hands pressed to the ground first rather than clips rooney's leg)...

if the slight touch count as subjective, it means nothing different with no contact at all since the player intention is clearly "simulation" to con the ref....

if slight touch been referred as the measuring stick, there're thousands penalty cases should be awarded la...

Quite sad that we lose the game but relief to see that we played better this time compared to previous matches against them last season. We have better team this year and as iglue pointed out, the team to beat this season.

An act to deceive the ref could be anything. The Sagna-Nani (or was it someone else? don't quite remember..) incident was one. It led to Sagna yellow carded for his outburst. Nani knew he kicked out the ball yet he raised his hand as if trying to say Sagna did it. That my friend, is trying to deceive the ref.

But still, I don't want anyone charged for it. I just don't want Uefa to impose this stupid ruling.

That's a legitimate penalty. Although Rooney kicked out his right leg (dive?), there was contact. And that's enough for the ref to make the decision.

On being sent off at the end of the match…
“I kicked the bottle of water when the goal was canceled from disappointment and the fourth official called the referee and sent me off. Frankly, I don’t know what to say. Thirty seconds to go. It was really spectacular. I didn’t even know where to go. He told me to go into the stands, but there was no way to get into the stands. Just because I kicked a bottle of water, I didn’t say a word to anybody. It was quite a good kick."

I think the point was the keeper didn't get the ball at all. As the commentator said, there was no obligation or ruling that says Rooney must jump over the keeper.

The Tottenham goalkeeper Gomes conceded a similar penalty before, he went down to the smother the ball but didn't get it and tripped the opposing player (? another Man Utd match? can't remember).
