ask for media kit & pay rm 10...

by sending email to Dell sales department?

when u wanna purchase a lappy.. u can tell the sales coordinator that u wanna add media kit & they will charge u RM 10.. if u already obtained lappy from dell but didn't get the media kit.. u just give them a call & give them ur service tag to buy the media kit.. send email also can..

actually why the Dell wanna make it so troublesome??

They should let customer to choose when customer is doing customization of laptop in Dell website...

You never buy from Dell before is it? The purchase of the media DVD kit for the OS IS IN the customizable page lah. Just that most buyers just click next next next next next and din't see it.

no! i swear i had checked many thousand times for the Windows 7 media kit when I was customizing my laptop, but i really didn't see any of it...

however, i found that some other model of Dell laptop got let u choose whether want the media kit or not, but not for my laptop model, I am very angry now...

Now, they are charging me RM 68 for the media kit delivery...

So, why is not the RM 10 as mentioned by ngkhanmein??

Should I continue by paying RM68? Or can somebody teach me how to make it to RM10 as mentioned by ngkhanmein??

Just download the ISO from somewhere and use ur OEM CDKey....
So far all the notebooks i ordered come with the option of the dvd media kit. Which model did you order?

does your notebook have a recovery partition then?

RM 58 included delivery? maybe that time i purchased it come 2gether with the media kit as i requested.. now u already get ur lappy & u wan buy the media kit.. bopian cos dell delivery the dvd from penang to ur house.. they charge u transport fees!

maybe u can tried ask other sales coordinator & tell them that time i 4get 2 get the media kit.. or ask them change ur heat-sink since u still under warranty at the same time ask for the media kit & pay them RM 10 only... use some tactics..

actually buy dvd burn urself r more save.. i lazy so just give them earn..

hi guys, finally my sister's new Dell Inspiron 15" laptop has arrived.

The hard disk inside is 500GB HDD, however the stupid Dell utilized the whole 500GB for:
-Windows OS (451GB)
-Recovery partition (15GB)
-OEM partition (100MB)


ok fine, then I go shrink the volume of Windows OS, however it only allows me to shrink from original (451GB) to become 229GB, which I don't want. I want the Window OS volume to be shrunk up to 100GB left, then the remaining space/capacity I want use for storage purpose.

==>So, the problem is: How can I further shrink the Windows OS volume to be become only 100GB ?

Hopefully u guys understand my problem..

Hi. I have questions about modding my Inspiron N4110.

It's an i3 2.1GHZ with intel hd 3000
Online I've seen versions of this model with i7's and ATI/Nvidia graphics.

Is there any shops in Klang Valley area that allows modding of laptops?

Warranty is not a problem.

My Inspiron 14r is getting frequent fan movements & noises now. It's rather ridiculous to hear it when I'm just using the damn browser. Heat too is increasing (75C for browsing only now). Boot time is rather normal <30seconds.

Any tips?
