QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Jun 22 2011, 09:37 AM) y u mus let ur laptop sleep? straight away turn off when u not using it.. leceh lah.. sleep mode & hibernate mode.. on it when u using it.. that's y u guys always said laptop spoil lah.. You think I use it only at home? Not at all.I need to let it sleep when going for short trips inside the campus and that is my main reason for using it. I would give you a situation on that matter but it seems unnecessary. I just wanted to know how you guys Inspiron users assign sleep function that's all. I'm new to Dell so that's why I asked. Sorry if I sound rude. No harm intended. |

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Jun 22 2011, 08:23 PM) That's okay too, but not the way I wanted. What laptop you using now? You seems to like change laptop so frequently. Let's say I assign sleep for Power button, then I just had to manually go to start or alt+f4 then? lol Also, I wonder why my Turn off display button won't work whereas the other two (settings/dell-info) works. QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Jun 22 2011, 08:46 PM) I didn't change notebook frequently, current ly using my second notebook, STudio XPS 16.. LOL. If you assign it to Power button, then you just need to press the Power button (the one you use to ON the notebook) Try reinstall quickset? I'm no noob k. Okay. Thanks. I just have to live with alt-f4 Added on June 27, 2011, 10:23 pmHey guys, I wanna ask again. Any one of you upgraded the laptop using SSD drive? I was comtemplating on it and if it's OK, what brand and model should I go for? This post has been edited by Chyan: Jun 27 2011, 10:23 PM |

I wonder, what's you guys idle temp. for non A/C rooms?
My laptop's fan been constantly spinning loud and temp gone 50 > 60+ P/S: Found the cause for the problem and it's from the PresentationFontCache.exe from the service.msc. Ended the process and removed the .dat files. Now all under control and back to normal now. I hope to see more active Inspiron users here. Can help each other more for specific problems. My Inspiron 14r is getting frequent fan movements & noises now. It's rather ridiculous to hear it when I'm just using the damn browser. Heat too is increasing (75C for browsing only now). Boot time is rather normal <30seconds.
Any tips? |

Anybody installed W8 on their Inspiron N4110?
The laptop's bugger GPU 6630M is the main hiccup. |
