amd neo is not much faster than atom except the graphic performance..  and its hot also..u can try see the comment for HP DV2. except u go for amd neo dual core..other few models u list out is only using atom processor.. so i personally feel that 11z is the best choice if you better performance than atom.
*
how about the Celeron? faster than both AMD and atom? can the dualcore/celeron and dell 11z's VGA support HD movies and photoshop? whats so special about the ION chipset?

celeron is quite slow..u can read the review from website for this unit.. many ppl complain abt it. but of cos faster than atom ..i think should be abt same as amd neo.. i thought 11z only got hdmi? but got adapter to convert hdmi to vga.. got one forumer mentioned abt it above.. photoshop should not be problem.. but not sure if will lagging or not.. cos even atom also can open..but of cos lagging..

have u receive yours?  care to give some brief comment?

I ordered but seems like DELL delivery is slow. They put a target of 5 Nov for delivery date mad.gif
I am suppose to go travelling on 29 October and have informed them to meet my requirements. The 5th Nov is really overshoot their promise of less than 15 days.

In my opinion, main purpose of netbook is for basic computing needs only. Over-customizing might not add value (if you get what I mean) smile.gif . It maybe better to get one of the other types (e.g Inspiron 13).

hehe..tats why i am still waiting to see if any discount in future.... actually if u really compare dell 13, its just a bit longer and wider but thicker.. and with that price u can get c2duo .. too bad i no chance to look at the real unit and compare both of them only.. only can use the ruler to measuer according to the measurement given sad.gif

lol...the main diff now is the processor. I reckon i might need the dual core coz i hope i can do everything with it ( other than gaming) It should last me for at least 2 yrs( college) since i'm getting a proper laptop during uni ( in any case, i may still use the mini for its portability)

awwwww man.... cry.gif rclxub.gif

actually i have a rig already, which will serve as my workstation for all tasks until i go abroad, that is. I simply needed something portable to get me through college life (presentation..starbuck-ing...toilet-surfing....etc)...something that i can chug right into my schoolbag. I'll defo get a multipurpose laptop in 2 yrs time. The Dell13 recommended by you would seem more of a laptop with its 13.3' screen. How long can its battery last bytheway?

which one u refer? if 11z should be around 6 hours+ but dell 13 some users claim that last abt 3-4 hours.. because it is using p series..

haha.. for me, one primary dekstop and notebook, then i will only consider netbook ..because sometime u might need use ur notebook to play some heavy program or do some presentation..i dun wan use netbook or smaller notebook (slower processing speed) cos it will make everyone wait and make me even nervous while waiting.. tongue.gif
anyway, dual core will be better compare to celeron.. but depend on ur budget too.. i really wan to compare 11z and 13 together using the real unit.. then only can decide.. if not much different, i will just consider dell 13 since price is abt the same (basic spec without customize) rclxms.gif and if i have more budget, i will add in gpu.. flex.gif

just found the comparison of size in this web..u can also add in dell 13..not very big different in terms of size..tongue.gif and 11z is same depth as hp dv2..

Well, for a college student I guess most of my presentations can be done with Powerpoint and Word..with a dualcore 11z I reckon it should have enough juice to deal with whatever tasks. The only reason I might need a laptop NOW(as I said, I'll be getting one during uni) is to bring it over to friend's house or Starbucks for LAN games laugh.gif which i dont think is very productive.....(hope my parents don't surf lyn and see this)

Dell13 is not exactly a laptop since it doesn't have a dvd drive. But its 13 inch screen simply doesn't put it in the portable netbook category either.

haha..dell 13 is not so portable but the size not much different and can get more powerful processor with almost same price..

atom also can open with powerpoint and work ..just u need to wait like a while then loading and open the program ..i believe you dun wan this happen when you are doing the presentation...it can make the speaker even nervous while waiting for loading tongue.gif ...

anyway..find the one which suit u is the most important thing.. i will wait till i see the real unit and compare the size.. sometime look at the measurement is not so accurate... better compare it side by side ... flex.gif

i am drooling over this notebook. fantastic price for a 11" full fledge duo core cpu as my working laptop. Thinking of buying a 21" HDMI LCD for my work with this lappie. the portability is awesome and the ULV Core duo is awesome!
