QUOTE(miahahaha @ Oct 2 2009, 08:17 AM) I think this one is not consider as Netbook right ya..nice product with ultra portable feature.. i think now only sony tt series got 11 inch screen.. others all start from 13 inch above.. great move! i mean with culv or other than atom processor.. the price is also competitive enough.. QUOTE(whizzer @ Oct 3 2009, 10:24 AM) I m thinking of getting the 11z. Currently considering 10v, 11z or 14z. did you consider dell 13? i found out the size is not much bigger than 11z too.. only the weight a bit more and thickness...now i am concerning hows the su4100 processor performance..but not much review on it yet.. Was looking at 10v but read reviews saying Atom based Netbook has performance issue & the reasonable price@RM1399. 14z was also on my list however, @ 2kg & RM2349, it moves it away from being a netbook. Thus luckily 11z appears. Anyone has one yet ? Want to know your personal ownership experienceĀ Ā and i also just realized recently su4100 is used in dell 14z and 4810tz timeline series..selling price is rm1999 without os and 1gb ram and rm2399 with vista home premium, 2gbram, 320gb and dvd writer.. its 11.6 inch
dimension for 11z as below Width: 11.5" (292mm) Height: 0.92" (23.5mm) front / 1.02" (25.8mm) back (with 3 cell battery) Depth: 8.43" (214mm) below is the dimension for dell 13: Dimensions & Weight Width: " (322mm) Height: " (27mm) front / " (31mm) back Depth: " (218mm) actually just a bit bigger only but performance is lot different and price is rm100 different with the lowest spec of dell 13... (abt 1 inch+ longer, 5mm thicker and 4mm longer).. but u can get core 2 duo, extra port like vga, express card slot, 320gb HDD.. but of cos 11z may win in battery life ..both got pro and cons.. for me the price is just too close and the spec make some huge different.. i willl just hold till got discount first This post has been edited by Hico: Oct 3 2009, 11:47 PM |

amd neo is not much faster than atom except the graphic performance.. and its hot also..u can try see the comment for HP DV2. except u go for amd neo dual core..other few models u list out is only using atom processor.. so i personally feel that 11z is the best choice if you better performance than atom.

QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 13 2009, 05:24 PM) how about the Celeron? faster than both AMD and atom? can the dualcore/celeron and dell 11z's VGA support HD movies and photoshop? whats so special about the ION chipset? celeron is quite slow..u can read the review from website for this unit.. many ppl complain abt it. but of cos faster than atom ..i think should be abt same as amd neo.. i thought 11z only got hdmi? but got adapter to convert hdmi to vga.. got one forumer mentioned abt it above.. photoshop should not be problem.. but not sure if will lagging or not.. cos even atom also can open..but of cos lagging..Dell 11z been released for quite some time right? |

QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 13 2009, 06:24 PM) ohh ic...thx for the info. guess my choice is pretty obvious now hehe..tats why i am still waiting to see if any discount in future.... actually if u really compare dell 13, its just a bit longer and wider but thicker.. and with that price u can get c2duo .. too bad i no chance to look at the real unit and compare both of them only.. only can use the ruler to measuer according to the measurement given Added on October 14, 2009, 10:29 pm QUOTE(ajay67 @ Oct 14 2009, 04:56 PM) yeah..its a good buy when u don customize it.. QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 15 2009, 07:23 PM) lol...the main diff now is the processor. I reckon i might need the dual core coz i hope i can do everything with it ( other than gaming) It should last me for at least 2 yrs( college) since i'm getting a proper laptop during uni ( in any case, i may still use the mini for its portability) wow...then why dun u find a proper notebook with 12 inch screen or 13 inch screen? like using p series or t series? this will be more practical for you to use for at least 2 yrs.. dell 13 is quite suitable to u.. not tat big also.. |

QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 16 2009, 12:48 AM) awwwww man.... tat one not too sure..someone said abt 3-4 hours?...but for me i think dell 13 is better if u need it as ur primary notebook..duno wat is ur opinion.. actually i have a rig already, which will serve as my workstation for all tasks until i go abroad, that is. I simply needed something portable to get me through college life (presentation..starbuck-ing...toilet-surfing....etc)...something that i can chug right into my schoolbag. I'll defo get a multipurpose laptop in 2 yrs time. The Dell13 recommended by you would seem more of a laptop with its 13.3' screen. How long can its battery last bytheway? |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Oct 16 2009, 02:10 PM) which one u refer? if 11z should be around 6 hours+ but dell 13 some users claim that last abt 3-4 hours.. because it is using p series..Added on October 17, 2009, 8:05 am QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 16 2009, 10:00 PM) nah it wont be my primary..i still have my rig. just need it for certain apps like photoshop and full HD movies. should be able to handle with celeron right? or should i go for the dualcore? haha.. for me, one primary dekstop and notebook, then i will only consider netbook ..because sometime u might need use ur notebook to play some heavy program or do some presentation..i dun wan use netbook or smaller notebook (slower processing speed) cos it will make everyone wait and make me even nervous while waiting.. hehe it will feel great knowing that ur having the best netbook out thereĀ anyway, dual core will be better compare to celeron.. but depend on ur budget too.. i really wan to compare 11z and 13 together using the real unit.. then only can decide.. if not much different, i will just consider dell 13 since price is abt the same (basic spec without customize) Added on October 17, 2009, 8:19 amhttp://www.sizeasy.com/page/size_comparison/25771-HP-DV2-vs-Lenovo-U350-vs-Dell-Vostro-A90-vs-Lenovo-U110-vs-Dell-11z just found the comparison of size in this web..u can also add in dell 13..not very big different in terms of size.. QUOTE(C-Note @ Oct 19 2009, 12:13 PM) Well, for a college student I guess most of my presentations can be done with Powerpoint and Word..with a dualcore 11z I reckon it should have enough juice to deal with whatever tasks. The only reason I might need a laptop NOW(as I said, I'll be getting one during uni) is to bring it over to friend's house or Starbucks for LAN games haha..dell 13 is not so portable but the size not much different and can get more powerful processor with almost same price.. Dell13 is not exactly a laptop since it doesn't have a dvd drive. But its 13 inch screen simply doesn't put it in the portable netbook category either. atom also can open with powerpoint and work ..just u need to wait like a while then loading and open the program ..i believe you dun wan this happen when you are doing the presentation...it can make the speaker even nervous while waiting for loading anyway..find the one which suit u is the most important thing.. i will wait till i see the real unit and compare the size.. sometime look at the measurement is not so accurate... better compare it side by side ... |
