QUOTE(moomoos @ Sep 14 2009, 04:03 PM) so basically its the encoded software, just like the 5.1,6.1& 7.1 format Bro, if yr LCD dont support 24fps, the info will never be 24fps on yr lcd. Its yr LCD, not yr BDs.... as my bd's when i check the info on player its only 1080i/1080p/60 as the 24p always is not highlighted must find a 24p BD that i like thanks BD movies are in 24fps natively, while some concerts can be 50 or 60fps. |

QUOTE(fadthil @ Sep 16 2009, 01:58 AM) Kisah parcel yang lambat dari Amazon: Ketam already received those parcels. They opened and select the titles among them - to be brought back to their respective hometown and watch over the long Raya holidays. They bring it back once returning back to work the following week, re-wrap it and replace it back in the parcel and re-seal it. They chop on the box with the date which is a few days earlier and then release it. You guys receive the parcels by then with the knowledge that it just arrived... QUOTE(oimeng @ Sep 16 2009, 06:13 PM) Nope....576, 720 or 1080 refers to the lines of resolution on yr screen from top to bottom. 1080i or 1080p refers to how the lines are displayed. Interlaced (i) skips a line when displaying (from top: line 1, 3, 5, 7... then line 2, 4, 6, 8...., effectively making it 540 lines per frame). Progressive Scan (p) are displayed all at ones (all 1080 lines each frame). 24Hz, 50Hz or 60Hz refers to the refresh rate the screen is showing per second. Films are captured 24 frames per second, so running a BD movie in 24fps will best simulate what u see on the big screen. TV usually displays the info as such: 1080i/50, 1080p/60Hz, 1080p/24 Pssst... hope i got it right, mayb some real sifu coudl explain it better?? Blu Ray.com did a review of the only 3 Tamil Blu Ray releases. Kudos to them to doing it. I own only one of them, more of a support for the studio in their efforts to move ahead. I actually pity the reviewer the 3 films chosen to be ported to Blu Ray for Tamil are really not too great, there are better ones but at least the Tamil film industry is moving in that direction. I stay away from Tamil movies as there is rarely movies of substance out there. There is one director works that I would like to see more of Maniratnam (if any out there are interested). His movies have plenty of story and he takes movies out of some interesting people and issues (mixed marriages in India, terrorism and of course there is song and dance in them, that's how the industry is!) Made me think, when we will finally see a Malaysian (preferably Malay) movie making it to Blu Ray. I would love to see some of the old P.Ramlee pictures go through some restoration for Blu Ray because I really think he is a smashing actor and his movies were way ahead of his times. I stopped watching Malay movies some time ago since like Tamil movies they really have slumped in quality. Maybe a Criterion like restoration on some of P Ramlee's classics would revive the interest. Question, how many of you out there watch foreign language (non native spoken language) movies (ie, French, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin) and how has Blu Ray improved your viewing experience for this. I know that HK movies are a thrill to watch due to their big budget action related movies, but how many non Mandarin speaking watch the movies that are more serious in nature... |

By saying foreign films, i suppose you mean the current ones and not the foreign classics? As for the former, recent good ones are Timecrimes, Tell No One and Let The Right One In, though I wouldnt say its due to Blu-Ray. Honestly, for BR audiences, what excites them most are the far out PQ and especially AQ. Foreign movies are seldom these and relies more on story-telling and direction, something DVDs can represent as a cheaper alternative.Made me think, when we will finally see a Malaysian (preferably Malay) movie making it to Blu Ray.
