ok. What I mean by good enough is whether the features match the pricing. Eg whether it can download online content.

Is it good enough if compared to PS3 or should I get Ps3 instead?

Pricing to get a decent player. Not too expensive for an average home. Just player only.

consider the more dedicated player Panasonic BD-60, retailing at RM1499 to 1899 ( but pm "htkaki" for best buy prices ) many forumers had tested it on bigger screens too and its on 1st class recommendation biggrin.gif

if you want below 1k ...check out the new phillips BDP3000, think some one mention retailing at RM799

alternative if you r a gamer take a peek at the coming PS3 Slim smile.gif

lastly.. if you r looking for something extra with build in HDD for multimedia features... shud consider the Dune 2.0 (old model) new model dune 3.0, but unfortunately not available locally, worth giving it a tinkle!!

There are plenty of rental service providers right here in LYN, jitu.unggul, torabluray. They have diff deposit and rental schemes, check out the Garage Sales under Games, filter PS3.

I rented 6 movies from jitu.unggul before.... now having both Final Fantasies for the long Raya break...

Thanks for the suggestions.

I think LX 91 overkill for average consumer. Budget wise.

Understand what your primary use for the player and also what u want to use it for.

If you are using a display that is below 50in and only need it for BD, I believe a BD60 or the Philips would be fine.

If you want the BD player to function as a media player, then go for the Dune.

If you want a BD player that will also play decent/good CD, SACD, DVD-A and u have a large collection of DVDs taht you do not want to upgrade to BD and u have a big screen go for the Oppo.

Of course if want something that does this and gaming, get a PS3 slim!

One thing to note, I believe if you want to buy movies/BD from different regions you shd consider getting a player that can be easily modded to be region free (Dune 1.0 only needed a firmware, Oppo is a easy cable upgrade, the BD60 requires soldering and the rest of the players are difficult). As of now the PS3 cannot be modded.
