does pushup consider a cardio exercise.
means that if i do crazily amount will act like lose fat.

same goes to bodyweight suqst and pullups.

It is a cardio if your heart rate is approximately below 85% max and it will be anaerobic exercise when your hate rate is approximately above 85%.

So if i want to build bigger muscles, I need to watch the evening news to increase my hate rate while pumping? Gotta try that out flex.gif

Usually to build muscle, you have to do weight training, body weight alone is insufficient. Unless you are very heavy

Body weight will be efficient up to a certain level, when your body gets used to it then its time to hit the weights.

No man it doesnt constitute to cardio, sure it helps increase heart beat rate but only for a certain period...You need a longer duration of increased heart rate to lose substantial amounts of fat.

Oh yes, these are all cardio all right.
Stuff like www.simple.org & hunderdpushups.com are tough cardio.
Make it tougher by using 1 legged squat/pistols instead of 2 legs.

You'll be panting like a mad horse by the end of 170+ push ups split into 5 set and completed within 15 minutes.

Check out 'No Excuses' by rosstraining.com :
Burpees, pull ups, squats, push ups. 10 minutes of pure cardio/conditioning hell. LOL! Your heart rate will still be pumped up an hour after this.

If you're crazy do this:
Mon - simplefit.org - day 1 (choose a level you can handle and upgrade when you feel it's easy)
Tue - hundredpushups.com - day 1
Wed - simplefit.org - day 2
Thu - Hundredpushups.com - day 2
Fri - simplefit.org - day 3
Sat - hundredpushups.com - day 3
Sun - Rosstraining.com - No Excuses or The Interval Challenge

I think by the end of 2 weeks of this... you would have fallen ill due to the crazy volume. Eat well and rest well! =)

Yadda yadda yadda... don't talk so much.
You do Week 4 of hundredpushups.com routine or No Excuses (rosstraining.com) first.

Measure your heart rate before & every 30 minutes after the exercise. I bet your heart rate will still be elevated 2 hours later, and still sweating. cool2.gif

Then come back here and tell us these are not cardio. brows.gif Nyek nyek nyek!

Best record, 60. Now... 20. LOL!
But I've seen a guy who can churn out 70+ push ups after a 2km run & 100+ bodyweight squats.

one arm for 3 times?! Holy crap, damn strong you are, bro!
How is it possible you can only do 20 normal pushups? You should be able to do wayyyy more than that.

the one arm pushup starting i do until leg tear cause starting leg put wide ,just imaging lol.

now i mostly do the strength , means i wont go until failure.
pushup 20 is nonstop one set until heart feel weak then stop adi , dowan go further
that 30 is when form4 that time la always do high reps.

lol no need say bruce lee la 2 finger one arm.

i saw the army come to school last time kadet remaja thing, one arm i think 3 finger , dem they are the hardcore.

hehe... my best record was 50-60 times in one go.
one handed(right hand) approximately 9-10 times
thats where i got my elbow busted...

currently my muay thai master can do push up with both his thumb only more than 30 reps and still going. =.= hahaha...
many of my seniors can do 2 finger push ups... but both hands... not single hand. =.=
some can do 3 finger one arm as well. =.=
i am just waiting to do that in the future...
haha...

haha i think most of us here do not do it EVERYDAY.
i think they only do a bit once a while, or during chest days.
=.=
i think 3 sets of failures is good enough.
if ur max is 10 push ups, then doing 3 sets of 10 is better than...
having a max of 100 push up, but doing 3 sets of 50. =.=
hahaha...
its all bout intensity... not the amount of reps.

rep= repetitions (not set)
Well as for my experience....
try make yourself total of 30reps wink.gif
Example:
if you done 1st set of 7reps, then you still have 23reps to finish it.
take rest then do second set and so on untill you finished your balance of 23reps flex.gif
