Not for me. Can you imagine what will it does to Foster's confidence? He would have think he is dropped after the game plus after SAF back him up?
*
No. He needs a lesson after such performance. Sat back and give time to regain better performance. At the same time SAF can give equal chance to kuszczak.

I think people need to remember Foster has rarely play for us behind our defense due to the injury streaks he had for past few seasons. Is it too early to judge him just after ONE game? Yes I would say. The experienced VDS did made mistakes as well and what happened after that? He will try to redeem himself in the next few games and bounce back. That's what we should do with Foster as well. Even though Foster is already in his mid 20s but for a GK, he is still relatively inexperience.

well GK usually can play until their late 30s, so relatively speaking, Foster is still in his "early 20s"....experience comes with matches....so we'll have to bear with him more in the future and hope he learn fast

I've always preferred Kuzzie when it comes to selecting the 2nd keeper for United. Foster is overrated IMO. I have no idea why the gaffer keeps showering him with praises - that he's the best English keeper around and stuff. Really.

The only thing slacking with Kuzzie is his kicks. The ball go flying all over the place. Pressured or not, his kicks are inconsistent.

But then again, check out Foster's kicks during last night's game. Poor Kuzzie, always ending up on the bench when he should be first choice in VDS's absense.

I always viewed Foster as someone with the better command of his area of the two. Far more confident looking, generally good with his kicking.. just the better GK really. Kuszczak is good at shot stopping no doubt, but aside from that, he doesn't inspire confidence like Foster could. Always viewed Kuszczak as someone who is no more than a backup GK, while Foster really could be first choice for us for years after VDS. But Foster really need to do better with his chances.. but let's not judge him over just a few matches. Also need to remember he missed about two seasons worth of games through injuries. That's bound to take its toll. Jury is still out, but with a run of games now that VDS is missing for 8 weeks, he should get back into the swings of things.. or if he fails, Kuszczak will get his chance, but come next summer, we'll buy someone if Foster don't make it.

We'll have to buy someone irregardless of the result. I just don't see PIG as good enough for United. Period.

good GK is hard to find. The current consistent ones left Buffon, Cassilas, Cech, VDS even then their standards drop slightly already. It's time to breed another solid GK, hence it needs time. In SAF I trust we can get it right!

Kuzzie as no.2 behind VDS, slighly in front of Foster. Neither as no.1 though. sweat.gif

The one that I saw the most potential with (post Schmeichel era and pre VDS) was Howard. Too bad he didn't have the patience to wait (i doubt anyone would have that patience) for his spot. Glad that he's doing well in Everton though, but he's much better compared to Kuszczak and Foster. But I still have faith in Foster given the proper guidance and faith, not to mention chances and also injury free!

Not sure about that. He was very good in his first few months, but after that went to pieces and never recovered. That Porto game killed his chances I think. I still think it's Foster's to lose. Up to him to make that spot his own. He does have ability, good kicker(although right now look like a scared cat), good shot stopper(need to do better with high shots though.. jump higher!), seems to command hi are pretty well.. just need a run of games which he should be getting in the next few weeks hopefully.

We need to stick with one and see how it goes. No point to just buy someone and if he too makes mistakes, what then? Scrap the plan and buy someone else too? No chance we'll get Cech, Cassilas.. there's really not that many outstanding GKs. Good yes, there's plenty, but how they fit with us is the big question mark. But if we can somehow get Buffon.. that would be great. A fantasy right now, but SAF seems to trust Foster. Hope he keep his word and continue the next games with Foster in nets and see how he does.
