mine is syrian & he is toilet trained. u are right...there is litter for the toilet, its called hamster toilet sand...it comes in a packet & different scents...i m using apple

it smells good & after the hamster pee inside the toilet already the sand(well not actually sand) stuck itself into a big piece. its hard to explain so i just show u picture la...u should be able to find in pet shop

there is another bedding that sunway pyramid petshop uses...they sell the bedding at that shop too....its a little green blue in colour & its like round round beads...but not perfectly round la....i think that is good too...its not cheap tho...& they sells it in a big packet. i never used it before so i m not sure about how efficient it is for absorbing the pee...but if u toilet train your hamster then i dont see a problem

& they are smart...my syrian found a way to escape his cage...whenever i forget to manually lock the cage with a clip he will climb up & hold the cage & his bottom feet will hold the cage door & push it...thus opening the cage

lol...my hamster never know how to use his bathing sand...

last time i use a cheaper toilet litter...its all in korean writing...that also not bad...but not that nice smell..so i bought another 1 at petshack...this smells nicer but a little more expensive...

the old litter i forget already the brand name...i think it was in korean writing too now i m using pet's 88. its apple scent so its green colour packet, there is big bold korean writing on it too at the side...but there is english writing too.

rm11.80 for toilet litter? not bad i guess if its good quality & scent coz the 1 i using is rm7.70 for 600g so comes around the same for 1kg. i m still trying out a few other brands coz i m searching the best one....

i m giving him vitakraft. before i gave him some other brand but i feel its not that good...& dosent smell that nice also...then i change to vitakraft premium & he likes it...but then few months ago i couldnt find premium at petshack so i bought the vitakraft dinner menu for him...its ok la...but there are grass & 1 more thing he dont eat...& dosent look it have a lot of nutrients like the premium brand. after he finishes this brand i will buy the vitakraft premium again

i m not so sure about that...coz dont really got experience with breeding hamster...but if u think they mate already u can remove the male...to avoid any stress or fighting....i dont think they will mate if she is pregnant....but i could be wrong coz i dont really know much about hamster mating

last time someone in here said the subang petsmore got vitakraft premium...i cant confirm tho coz i never try finding at there. my hamster also before this like to sleep in the toilet...then when i on air con he will run to his house & cover with bedding till cannot see him. he feels cold i guess yup syrian came from desert.

hmm not so sure maybe after august coz i still got lots of food & bedding left. but i m thinking of finding a 2ft tank tho...i want to change...dont want to use cage. so not so sure...maybe i will go summit petshop first & try to find...if dont have then around ss15....worst to worst go midvalley...see la when i feel like going..coz now semester break...feel very lazy

i bought from petshack, before this i bought hamster stuff from sunway pyramid petshop (petslovingcenter i think the name..or something like that) but i find their price is a little more expensive compare to outside.

i m going to get plastic tank...easier to clean & carry

oh...hahha but i got no car so hard to collect from u also ....i never knew barley got lots of nutrients for hamster. i give vitakraft, mealworm, carrot, almond & sunflower seed hahha... but not always la...1 week twice or once...depends if i lazy or not

Added on July 19, 2011, 1:32 pmyup sunflower seed is high in fats...i buy small packet always...coz if big packet when open later the smell wont be very strong after sometime....plus its easy to 'masuk angin'. i put in a small container...then night sometimes i will let him run around my room...if time to go in already & he hiding somewhere i open the container then he will run for the sunflower seed...hahaha then i will catch him

also i will put the apple wood inside it coz after sometime he wont use it already to bite...the apple smell lost already...so can reuse the stick later

my hamster like to bite rubber material...he go & bite my screwdriver grip...my air con remote button & my toothbrush he dont eat the material but he just like to damage it...

already put it in my previous post...hahaha i forget...plastic tank ah...it wont crack if u do slowly but if i get plastic tank i will follow the last picture setup...if u got something that is metal & small (maybe a old screwdriver) i suggest to heat it up...make it really really hot...then u punch a hole through the plastic...it should melt the plastic & make a hole...then u can put the metal wire through it...if the plastic is thick u can repeat it few times... thats just an idea la...

why not go with the last picture setup? just use metal wire...provided your bottle design is similar la...no need to worry about the hamster biting then

take a look at this...its simple too...hahaha just add some sand or heavy thing inside if scared it will fall down

oh...hahaha if u want to put the bottle outside the tank i think more work...need to drill or make a bigger hole for the bottle tip to go through...i think like the pic in the link..the last pic..that is best for lack of space & easy setup...just need to make small hole

btw how much u bought the 1.5ft tank? i thought those plastic tank all very cheap...rm55 is quite expensive leh...

i dont think they got...but u can try to check it out...coz the last time i went there like dead already its like they never update anything...hahaha all also so few items...not much choices like before
